TRUMP'S DISASTROUS ECONOMY

Stiglitz

Trump's economy is an absolute disaster according to Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz  of Columbia University.

According to Stiglitz -

1. US life expectancy, already relatively low, fell in each of the first two years of Trump’s presidency.

In 2017, midlife mortality reached its highest rate since World War II.

Millions have lost their health insurance coverage, and the uninsured rate has risen, in just two years, from 10.9% to 13.7%.

Deaths from alcohol and drug overdoses, and suicide have fast increased.

Trump gutting of regulations means that the air will be less breathable and the water less drinkable.

2. Trump's 2017 tax changes will result in tax increases for most households.

3. There was no significant change in US household’s disposable income between 2017 and 2018 (The most recent year with good data).

The median wage of a full-time male worker (and those with full-time jobs are the lucky ones) is still more than 3% below what it was 40 years ago.

4. There are record peacetime deficits (almost $1 trillion in 2019).

The US had to borrow massively abroad: the most recent data show foreign borrowing at nearly $500 billion a year, with an increase of more than 10% in America’s net indebtedness position in one year alone.

5. Trump’s trade wars have not reduced the US trade deficit, which was one-quarter higher in 2018 than it was in 2016.

The 2018 goods deficit was the largest on record.

Even the deficit in trade with China was up almost a quarter from 2016.

6. Despite Trump’s promises to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US, the increase in manufacturing employment is still lower than it was under Barack Obama, once the post-2008 recovery set in.

Manufacturing employment is still markedly below its pre-crisis level.

The employment rate for working-age males and females has increased less than during the Obama recovery, and is still significantly below that of other developed countries.

The pace of job creation is also markedly slower than it was under Obama.

Many adult Americans are not counted as 'unemployed', even though they are unemployed.

7. Judging by GDP, the Trump economy falls short.

Last quarter’s growth was just 2.1%, far less than the 4%, 5%, or even 6% Trump promised to deliver, and even less than the 2.4% average of Obama’s second term.

MODERATE OPTIMISTS LIVE LONGER

A MODERATE OPTIMIST has a positive outlook and believes that some good things will happen in the future.

"Low levels of pessimism, rather than high levels of optimism, have been associated with better health.

"Having realistic expectations, rather than taking extremely positive or negative positions, may actually be the recipe for good health and happiness.

"Rather than constantly aiming for a bright smile and sunny disposition, or giving in to an overall negative outlook, the goal should be moderate optimism

Pessimism | Psychology Today UK

Researchers at Harvard University have reported that:

People who are optimistic tend to live longer than their less-optimistic people.

The study appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

Some Americans and Brits are not as optimistic as they used to be.

This may be a cause of falling Life Expectancy.

Is Shrinking Optimism Tied to Drop in U.S. Life Expectancy ...

The degree of pessimism felt by an individual or group can often be linked to political and economic conditions in their personal lives and their society.

It would appear that there was no similar rise in mortality in the small, often mildly socialist countries in Europe and Asia.

US life expectancy falls for third year in a row

Life Expectancy -
United States 79.5 years
Switzerland 83.4 years
Iceland 83.0 years
Singapore 83.6 years
Switzerland 83.489 years
Sweden 82.6 years

Research shows that People who are 'happy, positive and optimistic' have a lower risk of developing a cold or flu.

"External objects do not exist."

"Therefore, what is the purpose of life as dream?

"Life is definitely a story full of symbolic events ...character development...

"According to contemporary teacher Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, all appearances perceived during the whole life of an individual, through all senses, including sounds, smells, tastes and tactile sensations in their totality, are like a big dream.

"It is claimed that, on careful examination, the dream of life and regular nightly dreams are not very different, and that in their essential nature there is no difference between them."

"Carl Jung believed that aside from each of us having our own conscious and subconscious selves, all humans are all somehow connected in one universal and collective unconscious."

"This collective unconscious is what gives us similar imagery in our dreams, and even ideas for myths, beliefs and folktales around the world...

"Cultures across the globe have very distinctive 'hero's journey' stories, along with many other archetypal tales and beliefs, that somehow all seem to share similar points in the plot line.

"One of the main ways in which Jung suggested that humans connect to the collective unconscious is through dreams.

This maybe points to the idea that somehow, through dreams, we can reach out to other people who are very far away or even gone from this world, since dreams exist in a place that knows no dimensional bounds...

THE USA'S PROBLEMS

The USA has two problems which have recently been highlighted by The Economist:

1. The US army is finding it increasingly difficult to recruit people for its military.

2. Many large US corporations are seeing a drop in profits.

Who will fight the next war? / The age of the torporation

When it comes to recruiting for the military the problems are:

1. Many young Americans are too overweight to join the military.

2. Many young Americans have tattoos, and the military won't take people with tattoos.

3. Many young American females have babies and toddlers to look after, so the military will not recruit them.

4. Many young Americans struggle to do mental arithmetic, so the military will not recruit them.

5. A growing number of the better educated young Americans do not like the military because of its actions in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.

Who will fight the next war?

The main cause of death of US soldiers is suicide.

One-third of America's serving military personnel suffer from psychiatric disorders.

The Economist relates that "for the second quarter in a row the sales and profits of members of the S&P 500 (top companies) are expected to fall...

"Even the tech industry's earnings are flat...

The age of the torporation

The main cause of America's decline is that it has been hijacked by a rich and corrupt elite.

"The United States has a greater disparity of wealth than almost any other nation on earth. Four hundred U.S. billionaires have more money than half the people of the United States combined..."

The Decline and Fall of the United States Washington's Blog.

American kids tend to be mind controlled.

Too many Americans fail to see that the US government carries out acts of false flag terrorism.

The biggest act of terrorism in the UK has been blamed on the CIA and its friends.

So, who controls the USA?

We call them Nazi-Zionist-Mafia-Robber Barons.

What we want is an end to AMERICANISATION.

Americanisation means the destruction of pretty gardens and houses and their replacement with ugly concrete structures.

Americanisation means crime, violence and unhappy children.

Americanisation means that beautiful old cultures are torn down and replaced with malls where you can buy McDonalds or watch a film about madness, mayhem and murder.

Americanisation means control by the military, the drug mafias and the big corporations.

When people try to resist Americanisation they find that they are subjected to false-flag terrorism and rigged elections.

"There are no people outdoors anymore - no kids on bikes, no neighbors talking over fences, no old men sitting on porches."

According to Gallup, 1957 was the happiest year ever in the USA.

After that, it was all downhill.

Bill Bryson has written about the destruction of pretty towns and farms in the USA.

Bill Bryson: The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid (2006)

1. American Farms destroyed

Bill Bryson writes: "I was born into a state that had two hundred thousand farms.

"Today the number is less than half that and falling...

"Most small towns in Iowa have pretty well died.

"Drive anywhere in the state these days and what you see are empty towns, empty roads, collapsing barns, boarded farmhouses."

Bigger farms make more money.

2. Americans' worship of money.

Bill Bryson describes the Americans' worship of mammon in the years after 1957.

"We were entering a world where things were done because they offered a better return, not a better world.

"People were wealthier than ever before, but life somehow didn’t seem as much fun...

"Women increasingly went out to work..."

3. Americans become more dumb and more criminal.

Bill Bryson writes: "Juvenile crime continued to rise and the education system seemed to be falling apart.

"The most popular nonfiction book of 1957 was an attack on American education standards called Why Johnny Can’t Read..."

"Television got itself into a terrible scandal when it was revealed that many of the game shows were rigged."

Can of US Cola in the West Bank. Picture taken by Justin McIntosh, August 2004.

4. American Towns destroyed

Bill Bryson describes what happened to Des Moines as the big corporations took over.

"Now we would be able to dine at the same restaurants, eat the same fast foods, wear the same clothes, direct visitors to the same motel beds as people in California and New York and Florida.

"Des Moines would be exactly like everywhere else...

"Often now along streets like Grand and University avenues the old houses were bulldozed to splinters...

"Two stately Victorian houses across from Tech High School on Grand had become sudden vague memories.

"The old downtown movie palaces were among the first to go.

"Bishop’s, our beloved cafeteria, closed about the same time...

"The Register ... which once truly was the pride of Iowa, got taken over by the Gannett organization three years later. Today it is, well, not what it was...

"My peerless Little League park, with its grandstand and press box, was torn down...

"There are no people outdoors anymore - no kids on bikes, no neighbors talking over fences, no old men sitting on porches.

"Everyone is indoors.

"All the downtown stores went one by one...

"Then somebody got mugged or saw a disturbed homeless person or something, and hardly anybody went downtown after dark after that, and most of the rest of the restaurants and nightspots closed.

"In the ultimate indignity, even the bus station moved out...

The USA could be healed if the top people followed the words of Jesus:

Blessed are the peacemakers.

Blessed are the merciful.

Blessed are the meek.

Love your enemies.

First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

You cannot serve God and money.

Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

JEREMY CORBYN OR THERESA MAY?

Jeremy Corbyn and Gerry Adams. What do they have in common?

In the UK, neither Theresa May's Conservative Party, nor Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party, is willing to speak out about the use of false flag terrorism, child abuse rings, and mind control - all used to keep the elite in power.

Corbyn, second from right.

Colin Todhunter asks if Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the UK Labour Party, is Britain's best hope.

Britain's Best Hope - Conservatives or Labour?

1. Colin Todhunter reminds us that the leaders of the UK Conservative Party would be happy to join US military action against the Syrian government.

Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the Labour Party, says: "We need to work through the UN."

However, the Labour Party's manifesto recommits the party to spending the usual amount of Britain's GDP on defence, as requested by NATO.

The Labour manifesto states that Labour supports the renewal of Trident.

2. Currently, the UK has a Conservative government.

Colin Todhunter reminds us about the increasing poverty in parts of  UK.

Average life expectancy has fallen in the UK .

"See this about rising food poverty and increasing reliance on food banks in the UK.

"See this about the five richest families in Britain being worth more than the poorest 20%.

"See this about one third of Britain's population being in poverty.

"According to this report, almost 18 million people cannot afford adequate housing conditions; 12 million are too poor to engage in common social activities...

"One in three cannot afford to heat their homes adequately in winter; and four million children and adults are not properly fed (Britain’s population is estimated at 63 to 64 million).

"Welfare cuts have pushed hundreds of thousands below the poverty line since 2012, including more than 300,000 children.

The Labour Party manifesto pledges to scrap 'punitive' benefit sanctions, and reverse several of the Conservatives' welfare reforms, including a £30-a-week cut to disability benefits.

Labour draft election manifesto.

The village of Sonning, west of London, was home to Uri Geller for 35 years. Theresa May lives in Sonning. Uri Geller has been linked to the CIA and Mossad.

3. The UK Conservative Party is currently run by wealthy pro-Israel, pro-Pentagon individuals.

According to Colin Todhunter:

In The Guardian, George Monbiot describes how Conservative cabinet minister Liam Fox has been central to cementing firm links with US corporate interests via The Heritage Foundation.

"The story Monbiot outlines is one of Fox's associations with US banking, oil, agribusiness, pharmaceutical and tobacco interests which have pursued an ultra-conservative economic agenda based on deregulation and the capturing of legislative processes.

"Monbiot notes that The Heritage Foundation is now at the heart of Trump's administration.

Left - Liam Fox. Right - Duterte, President of the Philippines.

"Under prime minister Theresa May, the trade treaties that Fox is charged with could plug the UK into US food and environmental standards, which tend to be lower than Britain's and will become lower still if Trump gets his way...

"Taking back control from Europe means closer integration with the US."

Colin Todhunter refers to the Conservative Party's ongoing privatisation of the NHS.

Colin Todhunter writes:

"Whether Corbyn could actually stem to tide of militarism and neoliberalism if elected PM is highly debatable..."

Theresa may .honestreporting.com.

4. Colin Todhunter asks: Can Jeremy Corbyn Stem the Tide of Neoliberalism and Militarism?

"The economy is now based on (held to ransom by) a banking and finance-sector cartel that specialises in rigging markets, debt creation, money laundering and salting away profits in various City of London satellite tax havens and beyond...

"When manufacturing industry was decimated (along with the union movement) and offshored, people were told that finance was to be the backbone of the ‘new’ economy. And to be sure it has become the backbone, a weak one based on bubbles, derivatives trading, speculation and all manner of dodgy transactions and practices.

Thatcher has been linked to people in child abuse rings.

"Margaret Thatcher in the eighties handed the economy to bankers and transnational corporations and they have never looked back. It was similar in the US.

"Now Britain stands shoulder to shoulder with Washington’s militaristic agenda as the US desperately seeks to maintain global hegemony...

"The people who run Britain are pushing ordinary folk into a race to the bottom. Reduced welfare, weak or no unions, poor wages, low-level jobs, increasing automation – they call this having a ‘flexible workforce’...

Thatchers with Skye McAlpine, daughter of  Lord McAlpine, who was the Tory Party Treasurer while Thatcher was prime Minister.

"Demand is flat and will remain flat because consumers are in debt and their wages are stagnant or falling.

"The biggest contributor to US GDP is the military-industrial complex - the arms companies, the military, the surveillance agencies, the logistics corporations, etc. The US can keep on printing dollars and extracting dollars from other nations via offering its treasury bonds..."

NEW HAMPSHIRE - POVERTY AND HEROIN

Jeb Bush's daughter

Edward Luce, at the ft relates that New Hampshire is associated with heroin.

New Hampshire has stagnating small towns and stagnating rural areas.

New Hampshire's middle-class is being squeezed and 'median income' is lower today than in the 1990s.

(Investors dump stocks, seek safe havens as bank fears flare)

New Hampshire nearly tops the US in deaths from heroin and 'pain killers' containing opium, such as OxyContin.

The Food and Drug Administration allows OxyContin to be prescribed to children as young as 11.

Sales of the painkiller OxyContin have risen from $45m in 1995 to $3.1bn last year.

US deaths from drug overdoses have tripled since 2000.

New Hampshire.

Jeb Bush's daughter, Noelle, was arrested with cocaine.

Ted Cruz's half-sister, Miriam, died from an overdose of drugs.

Carly Fiorina's stepdaughter died from an overdose.
Chris Christie's best friend from law school died as a result of 'painkillers'.

Drug overdoses have led to a decline in life expectancy for young and middle-aged white Americans - the first decline in life expectancy for either group since the Great Depression.
