Christians in Syria.

Matthew 6:26-34

Do not worry. Worry is not good for you. Pursue goodness and you will be OK.

Avoid fear.

Christians in Syria.

Matthew 5

"Happy are those who are hungry and thirsty for goodness, for they will be fully satisfied!

"Happy are the merciful, for they will have mercy shown to them!

Love your enemies and bless those who persecute you.

Do not kill and do not call anyone a fool or a lost soul.

Make your peace with your brother.

Avoid anger and lust.

"If a man hits your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well.

"Give to the man who asks anything from you, and don't turn away from the man who wants to borrow."

Matthew 6

"Don't pile up treasures on earth, where moth and rust can spoil them and thieves can break in and steal.

"But keep your treasure in Heaven where there is neither moth nor rust to spoil it and nobody can break in and steal. For wherever your treasure is, you may be certain that your heart will be there too!"

"The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.

"But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If all the light you have is darkness, it is dark indeed!"

"No one can be loyal to two masters. He is bound to hate one and love the other, or support one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and the power of money at the same time."

Matthew 7

"Don't criticise people, and you will not be criticised. For you will be judged by the way you criticise others, and the measure you give will be the measure you receive."

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and fail to notice the plank in your own? Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you can see clearly enough to remove your brother's speck of dust."

"Ask and it will be given to you. Search and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened for you. The one who asks will always receive; the one who is searching will always find, and the door is opened to the man who knocks."

"Treat other people exactly as you would like to be treated by them - this is the essence of all true religion."

"Be on your guard against false religious teachers, who come to you dressed up as sheep but are really greedy wolves. You can tell them by their fruit.

"Do you pick a bunch of grapes from a thorn-bush or figs from a clump of thistles? Every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.

"A good tree is incapable of producing bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. The tree that fails to produce good fruit is cut down and burnt. So you may know men by their fruit."

"“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

"These words reflect the experience of many Christians in Israel today who increasingly find themselves under assault.

"Last month, two churches were painted with slogans such as “Jesus is dead” and “Death to Christianity.”

"Many priests are daily spat upon when walking on the streets in Jerusalem."

Christians Feel Growing Oppression in Israel

Trump comes clean… from world’s policeman to thug running a global protection racket

  1. May I comment, and not comment... much. Enough, you let the Word/s speak with a smidgen of accompaniment. Yes, this does me good, so thanks, as ever. Top post.

  2. Some beautiful things above from the Bible

Some things tho can be questioned ... was it right to recommend passivity ... instead of the righteous warrior mentality of the Bhagavad-Gita?

Were Jewish bible-writers perhaps trying to make people into passive subjects?

And there are hideously ugly, genocidal things in the Bible ... With child genital mutilation as a 'core' idea ... Sadly infecting Islam badly, both for boys and girls ... and Yank USA people too ... hundreds of baby boys dying from circumcision each year

There are ugly things in the literature of Asian relgions too ... tho their books are not 'holy' in the Abrahamic way, one is free to not follow them, as Buddha himself said, follow your heart

And maybe Christianity / Judaism / Islam had a big error in the 'only one true way' mentality

Unlike spreading Hinduism or Buddhism or Daoism, which allowed & integrated local gods and goddesses and spirits ... Abrahamic religions wipe out and destroy older religious cultures

A Jewish writer, Marcus Eli Ravage (1884-1965), said in his essay, 'A real case against the Jews', that the ultimate foundation of 'anti-semitism' in the West, is that the concoction of 'Christianity' created by Jew Paul of Tarsus, led to the wiping out and destruction of our own ancient religious cultures, and deep down we know it is Jews who robbed us of that, and we ache for what we lost

Another issue of Christianity & Islam, is that their texts serve to put on a pedestal Jews & Judaism, as 'God's chosen people' ... not such a helpful theme for the world?

    1. I totally agree and came to the conclusion those that stole, edited and yes, created the Bible, created the bible from the sacred texts needed slaves.

This is true for both the Brahmanics and ABrahamics!
(They're both pretenders, but the former got the better part of our composite spirituality.)

KALI is our EL SHADDAI, aka Goddess, who was written out of the bible, except in the oldest texts in London.
(SHAD means breast in HeBrew and She is dualistic.)

  3. Israelis are taking the 'crypto Jew' idea and running with it, to expand Jewish power ten-fold

Despite less than 20 million 'full' Jews in the world, recent genetic studies show there may be 200 million people globally, with some Jewish heritage ... 3% of the global population ... half of them Latinx, maybe 100 million Latin Americans with an ancestor a Jew expelled from Spain or Portugal

Israeli government advisors are urging Israel to embrace the '200 million part-Jews' idea, alongside the 16-20 million 'core' Jews ... encouraging part-Jews to mentally link up with Jews and Israel, and take pride in their part-Jewishness

New USA political star, pretty socialist Democratic Congresswoman, 29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, just announced that her own Puerto Rican heritage included the heritage of Jews expelled from Spain

With the Latinos moving to ascendancy in the USA Democratic party and thus in USA politics ... and many Latinx people apparently a bit Jewish ... an article on Henry Makow asks,
Is a 'Latino-Jewish' USA in the works?

  4. Hi Aangirfan,

Remiss of me, I forgot to wish you all a nice Christmas and New Year. Missed the new year, but I'm still in time for Orthodox Christmas at least.

Maybe it's also a good time to remember another anniversary.

The fiftieth anniversary of the concept of 'Earthrise'.

Just before Christmas of 1968, for the first time a human being, Bill Anders, saw our common home differently.

He took a picture of the sunlit Earth rising over the Moon.

And brought home clearly what we, all of us, all of us on this Earth, together have been given.

The idea of 'Earth Day', invented in 1970, was inspired by this very photo.

So here we are as living beings. At the fork in the path. With signposts pointing to heaven and hell. What will we make of this Earth? An Eden or an inferno?

And maybe we should honour the pioneering explorers of the cosmos, some of whom sacrificed even their lives to bring us further.

And from the crew of Apollo 8 we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas --- and God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth.

    1. Merry Christmas to you.

    2. Why is the moon so lonely?

      Thanks, Anon.

You know, that also reminds me of another landmark.

Astronaut Michael Collins failed to find Chang'e.

But the Chinese people have just recently landed a craft on the dark side of the moon.

So I'm optimistic they will find her. And Chang'e will at last be reunited with Yi.

Mortality, immortality, even the walls between myth and "reality", are no barrier to perfect love.

    3. (That was also the answer to "Why is the moon so lonely?" It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!)

We're not here on a holiday folks!
