I am extremely confident that based upon the police interviews with the victims and the alleged perpetrator, the Hampstead children were victims of sexual abuse.
There was an alleged incident at a swimming pool and when the police questioned the father about it, he denied it but also admitted that it was possible that while applying sunscreen he may have "inadvertently" made contact with the children's genitals.
When the male child recanted most of the allegations he had made he continued to maintain that the swimming pool incident had happened.
The foster parent the children were sent to live with in September 2014 when the allegations were first made said that they heard the two children nonchalantly discussing what type of lubricant was best for anal intercourse.
They were both far too young to know anything about that type of thing without some form of adult intervention in my opinion and the foster parent was not an interested party so it does seem as though something untoward had taken place in their lives.
Beyond that, there isn't enough evidence to be confident that the claims of a broader network of child abusers in that area are true at all.
It is entirely possible that the entire story was true but there isn't enough evidence to assert that with confidence.
The police investigation did not appear to be an authentic search for the facts. It looked a lot like a cover up.
In retrospect, this story was in my opinion, an unfortunate diversion from the more important and well documented British establishment cover up of numerous political figures committing disgusting crimes against children and being protected by a putrid establishment happy to completely discard justice in exchange for lifetime fealty from the protected politicians they were actively protecting.
I feel that the establishment were on much safer ground whilst people were discussing this story than if they had been concentrating upon the extremely well documented crimes and cover ups related to Jimmy Saville, Cyril Smith and many others.
I think those stories are far more important because the evidence is so much stronger but more importantly because they relate to the most significant part of organised child abuse: political blackmail.
There was no political or blackmail angle to the Hampstead story and that makes it a far less significant story than those of Saville, Smith and many others.
The sentence Sabine received was absolutely outrageous. I checked and the nine years she received is at the high end of sentences for rape in the UK. Indeed, many people receive half that sentence or less for rape than what Sabine received.
Clearly the system sought to make an example of her, something that can be indicative of a broader cover up, but something that happens for other reasons too.
I wrote to Sabine once when she was in prison.and received a reply, she was clearly struggling with a number of health problems and found the prison authorities to be callous towards her but overall she seemed to be coping.
I was very naive at the time and didn't think through the situation very well.
Although I have almost no doubt that the Hampstead children were the victims of abuse the story appear to me to possibly have been a deliberately planted diversion.
I don't know that but that is how it appears to me.
It is also possible that in future we will discover the whole story was true.
Some of the things that trouble me about the story are:
The children were sent to the Tavistock clinic in the months prior to them making their claims.
The mother and her partner are able to completely disappear for a decade and there seems little interest in finding them.
The complete lack of any political connection to the story is on it's own very troubling to me.
It may mean nothing but seems suspiciously convenient to me.
Hopefully sometime in the future the full truth will emerge, whatever it is.
my friends went to London for @ Protest about the Hampstead expose..on the way back to Cornwall someone made several attempts to run their catr off the road with a large ,eindows blacked out ,range rover..also i contacted the school in question who reacted to the allegations with a weird sort of satisfaction /smugness /conceitedness that was impossible to not detect.
