GUN LOBBY

Fox news columnist John Lott is a fervent supporter of guns.
However, in 2000 Lott was unable to produce the data, or any records showing that the survey had been undertaken.

Lott created and used "Mary Rosh" as a sock puppet to defend his own works on Usenet and elsewhere.

Lott created and used "Mary Rosh" as a sock puppet to defend his own works on Usenet and elsewhere.
After investigative work by blogger Julian Sanchez, Lott admitted to use of the Mary Rosh persona.[61]
Sanchez also pointed out that Lott, posing as Rosh, not only praised his own academic writing, but also called himself "the best professor I ever had".
Aangirfan was criticised by a reader when stating that the Americas have the highest murder rate, and the most guns.
So here are the figures:
Louisiana has a higher murder rate (10.8) than New Hampshire (1.7).
In 2013, at the Menznau factory in Switzerland, an employee opened fire on his co-workers in the company's cafeteria.
This came only weeks after another shooter killed three people and wounded two others in the southern Swiss village of Daillon.

The Powers-That-Be support gun rights.
Of course, not all places in the USA have the same murder rate.

44.5% of the people of Louisiana are gun owners.
14.4% of the people of New Hampshire are gun owners.
Switzerland has lots of guns.
In Switzerland, the Romanshorn shooting was an act of mass murder which involved Hermann Schwarz shooting dead 7 people.
The Zug massacre took place in 2001 in the city of Zug in Switzerland.
Not all places in Europe are the same in terms of shootings and murders.

Fourteen people were shot dead by Friedrich Leibacher.

In 2015, five people died after a man went on a shooting rampage in the tiny town Wuerenlingen in northern Switzerland.
The 36-year-old gunned down three of his in-laws after a 'family dispute', police said.
He then headed next door and murdered a 46-year-old neighbour before turning his weapon on himself.

According to police, the boy shot the girl after she refused to let him see her puppy.

The idea here is that your friendly neighborhood gun owner is not just a hobbyist assassinating apples with an assault rifle in his spare time (impressive though the old dude in this video may be), but a quick-drawing, sharp-shooting hero-in-waiting who will take out the criminals like Time Crisis NPCs if and when the shit goes down.
And if there were more Americans like him—at least one in every classroom, movie theater, and Bible study, ideally—mass murderers would think twice before shooting anything.
The meme gets at the central argument espoused by the pro-gun lobby in recent years, rephrasing former NRA President Wayne LaPierre's famous 2013 statement that, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
Unfortunately, though, LaPierre's "good guy" fantasy is just that.
While it's true that gunslinging civilians have stopped a few shootings, in real life, these armed vigilantes can also be very unhelpful. In the heat of a firefight, they might aim for the wrong person, for example, or end up shooting that person in the head. And sometimes, they get themselves killed.
If you get away from action movie scenarios, science says gun owners are less safe from gun violence than other people.
Because when the good guys end their nightly patrols and holster their guns, they generally take those guns home.
And studies have shown that once they're there, they're more likely - twice as likely, by some estimates - to be killed by a "bad guy" than people who don't keep firearms at home.

Both the Israelis and the Americans love their guns.

The gun-loving Israelis are the same as the gun-loving Americans.
Guns have a habit of being used to kill innocent people.
Today we read that in the USA a boy, 11, has been held for shooting dead his eight-year-old neighbour

Americans are obsessed with violence.
Anonymous complained that we are ignoring the murders that have taken place in Asia and Europe.
However, at Counterpunch we read:
"Tens of millions of Asian people have been murdered by Western imperialism (the USA)...
"(We should not forget) the barbaric liquidation of Korean civilians by the US forces... the millions, of those who were blown to pieces, burned by chemicals or directly liquidated – men, women and children of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines..."

The CIA put Saddam into power and manipulated Iraq and Iran into a war. Then came the Desert Storm campaign, depleted uranium, UN sanctions and the latest Iraq war. Over 1 million have died as a result of American interference in Iraq.
Brazil, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Haiti, Iraq, Iran, Laos, East Timor, Grenada, Greece...
All of these and more suffered from torture and death as a result of American 'intervention,'

Below we remind readers of the World's biggest holocaust, the one carried out by the USA:

Pinochet's rise to power, organised by the CIA and Henry Kissinger, began nearly twenty years of military dictatorship that led to thousands of deaths.
30,000 people were massacred in the weeks following this September 11th, as Pinochet tried to wipe out those who opposed fascism.

Americans torturing someone
Ex-State Department employee William Blum stated, "An American holocaust has taken place - So great and deep is the denial of the American holocaust that the deniers are not even aware that the claimers or their claims exist.
Through the Phoenix Program, hundreds of thousands of people were tortured to death in “interrogation centers”. These torture centers were built by the United States. Women were always raped as part of the torture before being murdered. The large-scale terrorism, rape and mass-murder was the policy of the USA. The My Lai massacre itself was an operation of the Phoenix Program.

The United States Air Force dropped the equivalent of a planeload of bombs every eight minutes for nine years on the people of Laos — from 1965 to 1973. Over 2,000,000 tons.
This was some of the heaviest aerial bombardment in world history.

Many thousands of Afghani civilians have died as a result of U.S. led air strikes in Afghanistan.
Since the Second World War, the US government has bombed 21 countries:
China in 1945-46 and again in 1950-53,
Korea in 1950-53,
Nearly 3 million civilians were murdered by the USA and its allies. As with Mai Lai in Vietnam, the murder of civilians at No Gun Ri, Korea, was not an isolated incident. The USA and its fascist puppet regime in South Korea carried out genocide against both North and South Korean people.
