)Ernst Albrecht made a political career enlisting former Nazis into the mainstream right-wing CDU, which became Angela Merkel's party.
Albrecht became the powerful governor of Lower Saxony 1976-90. His Justice Minister was a former Nazi regional leader, Hans Puvogel.
In 1978 there was a bomb explosion at a prison, ascribed at the time to the 'Red Army Faction'. In the aftermath of being falsely blamed, leftist prisoners went on hunger strike, and one of them, Sigurd Debus, died.
But a 1986 parliamentary enquiry, showed the bombing was a Gladio false flag run by Ursula von der Leyen's father, Ernst Albrecht, and his former Nazi partner, Puvogel. This affair is known as the Celle Hole or, in German, 'Celler Loch' scandal.
But despite public guilt, there were no serious consequences for Von der Leyen's father ... this is possibly the model for Von der Leyen feeling she can always get away with big scandals (six of them in list below)
Von der Leyen's great-grandmother, Mary Ladson Robertson, was an American from the plantation Ladson family owning and abusing slaves for centuries in South Carolina USA ... When Von der Leyen studied at the London School of Economics, she used the fake name 'Rose Ladson'
On her husband's side, there is an apparent relation, Joachim Freiherr von der Leyen, who was a Nazi gauleiter involved in atrocities in Ukraine, dying in the last year of the war.
Sometimes it is said Von der Leyen had a 'grandfather', Carl or Karl Albrecht, helping Nazis with slave labour etc in Ukraine, tho this seems to be partly an error, as her grandfather was a physician ... it was possibly her great grandfather (1875-1952) or another Albrecht relative ... the Albrechts are a large, old rich German family with many branches, an Albrecht co-founded Aldi stores, for example
