STRELKOV v PUTIN - 2024

From his jail cell, Strelkov aka Igor Girkin, has signalled he will be a candidate for the Russian Presidential election against Putin in March 2024. 

Maybe like Trump, running a campaign from jail.

Qualifications Strelkov is reported as citing, somewhat humourously, are:

- Strelkov has significant military experience, which Putin admits he doesn't have

- Putin speaks repeatedly of being 'duped' by trusting Western figures such as Obama, Trump, Macron, Merkel, Poroshenko and Zelensky ... this will be much less likely with Strelkov

- Putin is too easy on the Ukraine / NATO enemy and the war drags on

- Putin has billionaire and 1990s friends to whom he feels bound, Strelkov has no wealthy supporters and no constraining ties

- Strelkov has no famous 'judo top physique' like Putin as long claimed in media, so Strelkov will likely be unable to stay in office for decades
