Mattis has threatened intervention in China's territorial affairs.

Mattis and Tillerson are threatening to intervene in China's sphere of influence.



2. Trump has chosen a former Goldman Sachs executive, Steve Mnuchin of Skull and Bones, to lead the US Treasury.

This reinforces the recent speculation about Trump's relationship to the Deep State.

The Trump team has connections to the Deep State - both overt (through Exxon) and covert (through Alfa Bank, which has been linked to the drugs trade.)

3. Trump in his transition team 'surrounded himself with people tied to the Koch Brothers.'

The Trump nominee for Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is a major billionaire contributor to the Koch donor list. 

Betsy's brother Erik Prince, of Blackwater, has been advising the Trump transition team on matters related to intelligence and defense.

Prince told Trump's senior adviser Steve Bannon that the Trump administration should recreate a version of the Phoenix Program.

1. Life is worse than it was 50 years ago, for people like them.

2. Ethnic and racial diversity is a bad thing, for Whites.

3. The government's anti-terrorism policies need to be much stricter.

4. Government regulation of business is not necessary.

So let's think back to the 1960's, to a world loved by Trump supporters.

1. In 1960, one in four Americans fell below the poverty line (an annual income of less than $3,000).

2. On 1 February 1960, four black men sat at a whites-only lunch counter at a Woolworth's in Greensboro, N.C., and were denied service.

3. The Phoenix Programme began. US forces tortured and murdered Vietnamese 'terrorists', who were usually innocent civilians. 

Richard Nixon eventually became president, having promised peace. 

He then bombed Cambodia and Laos. The Vietnam War did not end until 1975.

4. In the 1960's, factory jobs began to disappear and the USA moved to an economy dominated by service and white-collar work.

(Robots are likely to be performing 45% of manufacturing tasks by 2025, versus just 10% today, according to a study by Bank of America.)

In the 1964 presidential election campaign in the USA, the Republican candidate Barry Goldwater suggested that nuclear weapons should be treated more like conventional weapons and used in Vietnam.

Lyndon Johnson beat Goldwater.

Hillary Clinton is like Johnson.

Johnson brought in some useful reforms, but can be judged a failure because, like Goldwater, he took a tough line on Vietnam.

Barry Goldwater, who was of Jewish origin, has been compared to Donald Trump.

Barry Goldwater was the Republican Party's nominee for the Presidency in the November 1964 election.

In a 1988 interview on Larry King's radio show, Goldwater was asked if he thought the U.S. Government was withholding UFO evidence; he replied "Yes, I do."
