Some years ago, a child sex abuse scandal threatened to bring down the UK's Conservative government, according to recently released government files.

The files reveal that Lord Boothby's relationship with the gangster Kray Twins was known to government ministers, the police and the security service.

In the spring of 1956, Lady Dorothy Macmillan's brother, the 19th Duke of Devonshire Edward Cavendish 'dropped dead' in front of his doctor, Dr. John Bodkin Adams .

Both Michael and Rupert were drowned.
