Craig Murray, a former British ambassador, told Dailymail.com that, in September 2016, he flew to Washington, D.C. for a secret meeting with one of the email sources.
'Neither of the leaks came from the Russians,' said Murray in an interview with Dailymail.com.
'The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks.'
Murray said he got the package of emails from a source during a secret meeting in a wooded area near American University, in northwest D.C.
Murray said the individual he met with was not the original person who obtained the information, but an intermediary.
