ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES

Two thirds of Scots children experience adverse childhood experiences such as domestic violence or parental drug misuse.

(ACEs - Adverse Childhood Experiences)

"Traumatic events are experienced by two thirds of children in Scotland before the age of eight, according to researchers at the University of Edinburgh.

"Growing evidence shows that ACEs influence brain development and have a long-term impact on lifetime health, wellbeing and outcomes."

David Peat.

Parents undergoing mental health problems or relationship break-ups were the most common, each affecting around one-third of children.

Almost one quarter of children had experienced frequent physical punishment.

One in five felt unloved or emotionally neglected.

Some 14 per cent had been exposed to parental drug or alcohol misuse, while one in 10 had been exposed to domestic violence.

Bottomline and I dont care if my comment gets censored or deleted: having kids is not for everyone. No excuse is justified.

Interesting observance about the Scots. However, are there any bad points?

Scotland is a world leader in so many things. A country that has punched above its weight for generations.

Foreigners are always ready to put the boot in before stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.

True greatness should be considered from my list below, we gave the world so much and with little thanks!

1. Freemasonry (well Scottish Rites)
2. Crusaders
3. Templars
4. Tobacco products and industry
5. Alcoholism and an whisky
6. Slave Owners (Edinburgh)
7. Slave Masters (Glasgow)
8. Usury and banking (Israel might argue that moot point)
9. Golf (A boring game for silly men)
10. Dolly the sheep (A cloned abomination).

To be fair though as scum goes with our illustrious past we're no better or worse than the English, Spanish, Italians, French, Belgians, Russians, Chinese, Israelis or the Yanks.

You can judge a man or country by the company he/it keeps. I would love to here what part of the world you are from......

Peace to the humans
