I found school stressful. I changed school 4 times by the time I was 8 years old, and I fell behind in my studies. I had to leave my class for an afternoon every week to go to special reading and writing lessons with some other slow kids.

When I left school at 16 years old I got an apprenticeship. I worked hard and then did an ONC and a HNC in electronics and I got nearly 100% in most exams. I found out then that I could actually do high level maths, but at school I was a thicko, so I wonder what went wrong?

It much harder for kids nowadays at school, with all those exams to do, and they know that poor grades means means doing rubbish jobs when they get older. Many must sink into depression like I did. I was lucky in the end, and was giving a chance by decent company. It was a public company owned by the government. They just liked me at the interview. I started to pick up and shine when I got that job, and I really worked hard at it. But nowadays with 1000's of youngsters going for the same job, only the very best get picked. Many probably have great potential, like me, but they are not giving a chance anymore.
