DOES ISRAEL HAVE A GUN PROBLEM?

There are approximately 6 million Jews in Israel.

(Hong Kong has a population of 7 million.)

Some people argue that Israel has strict gun control laws and a low murder rate.

Other people argue that there are a lot of guns in Israel and that there are a lot of shootings.

"A total of 170,000 guns are licensed for private use in Israel, or about one gun for every 30 adults.

"In addition to the privately held weapons, 130,000 guns are licensed to Israeli security companies, firing ranges, government ministries and companies that operate in areas deemed dangerous.

"Soldiers carry assault rifles off base during their regular or reserves service."

Israel dismisses NRA's claims about guns laws .

So, you will see a lot of guns in Israel.

An Israeli threatens a child.

According to B'Tselem 49 Palestinians were killed by Israeli civilians between 2000 and 2010.

In 2013, Itamar Alon, an Israeli citizen entered a bank in Beersheba and opened fire, killing four and wounding five.

In 2005, an armed man entered a Tel Aviv meeting place for gay teens and opened fire on the crowd, killing two.

In 1994, Baruch Goldstein shot dead 29 people and wounded 125 in an attack on Muslim worshipers at the Tomb of the Patriarchs.

In 2005, Eden Natan-Zada, an Israeli, opened fire in a bus in Shefa-Amr in northern Israel, killing four Arabs and wounding twelve others.

Let's not forget the 1995 assassination of Yitzhak Rabin by an Israeli.

So, Israel is actually rather violent.

If you love guns, you'll love Nir Barkat (above).

Barkat has told his fellow citizens that it is their duty to carry guns.

'Carry your firearm everywhere,' says gun-toting mayor.

Nir Barkat is the Mayor of Jerusalem.

Currently Israel has a degree of gun control and reportedly civilians have far fewer guns per head of population than the USA.

And so Israel has fewer 'murders' than the USA.

The 'murder rate' in Israel is 1.8 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Israeli gun laws are strict.

But, tiny Israel does have a large number of shootings, particularly shootings of Palestinians.

Israelis

As a general rule, the Israelis direct most of their violence against the Palestinians.

In July 2015, Israeli settlers killed three Palestinians.

Israelis then rampaged through the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

There was then "intensified state terror throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem, turning the entire territory into a battleground."

Obama Approved Israeli West Bank Violence.

Israelis

For many hundreds of years the Turkish-Ottoman Empire controlled Palestine and provided the 'security' in Palestine.

In 1897 the First Zionist Congress was held in Switzerland and it declared that its aim was to set up a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

One of the aims of the cabal that started World War I was to detach Palestine from the Turkish-Ottoman Empire.

The cabal is powerful and includes Zionist bankers and politicians throughout Europe and America.

In the late 1800s, Palestine had very few Jews (about 4% of the population). Most of the population were Arabs. Most of the 'Jews', who pushed their way into Palestine to found the state of Israel, were 'Khazars' who had converted to the Jewish religion. Jews - Aangirfan.

At the end of World War I, Palestine was handed over to Britain.

British army sergeants, Clifford Martin and Mervyn Paice murdered by the Irgun in July 1947.

Heavily armed Jewish terrorists carried out many attacks on the British.

In 1947 the UN General Assembly proposed the division of Palestine into an Arab and a Jewish state.

The Jewish state would have been relatively small (Much of Southern Israel is desert)

On 14 May 1948, the Jewish leadership in Palestine announced the establishment of the independent State of Israel.

Palestinians.

At this point five Arab countries made the mistake of using force.

This played into the hands of the Israelis.

Each time the Palestinians are provoked into using their guns, it plays into the hands of the Israelis.

Palestine 1947. Lots of guns.

The 1948 Arab-Israeli War resulted in an Israeli victory.

Israel grabbed a large chunk of extra territory from the Palestinians.

Some 711,000 Palestinian refugees were displaced by the war.

From 1949 until 1967, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, were occupied by Egypt and (Trans)Jordan, respectively.

Israeli boy reportedly hit by the Palestinians.

In 1967, Arab troops massed on Israel's borders.

The Syrian chief of staff said: "Our objective is the freeing of Palestine and the liquidation of the Zionist existence." The Iraqi president said: "Our goal is clear - to wipe Israel off the face of the map." Egypt's President Nasser spoke of a "total war ... aimed at Israel's destruction."

All this gave Israel an excuse to start another war and gain more territory.

In the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel defeated Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.

As a result of the war, Israel grabbed the Gaza Strip and Sinai from Egypt, the West Bank and Jerusalem from Jordan and the Golan Heights from Syria.

The idea here is that your friendly neighborhood gun owner is not just a hobbyist assassinating apples with an assault rifle in his spare time (impressive though the old dude in this video may be), but a quick-drawing, sharp-shooting hero-in-waiting who will take out the criminals like Time Crisis NPCs if and when the shit goes down.

And if there were more Americans like him—at least one in every classroom, movie theater, and Bible study, ideally—mass murderers would think twice before shooting anything.

The meme gets at the central argument espoused by the pro-gun lobby in recent years, rephrasing former NRA President Wayne LaPierre's famous 2013 statement that, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."

Unfortunately, though, LaPierre's "good guy" fantasy is just that.

While it's true that gunslinging civilians have stopped a few shootings, in real life, these armed vigilantes can also be very unhelpful. In the heat of a firefight, they might aim for the wrong person, for example, or end up shooting that person in the head. And sometimes, they get themselves killed.

If you get away from action movie scenarios, science says gun owners are less safe from gun violence than other people.

Because when the good guys end their nightly patrols and holster their guns, they generally take those guns home.

And studies have shown that once they're there, they're more likely - twice as likely, by some estimates - to be killed by a "bad guy" than people who don't keep firearms at home.

A law gun should be more legal, maybe like in Swiss. The small patriotic groups, the native patriotic groups, no immigrants or from ppl abroad.
They (government) want unarm us, man.
A weapon was not created to attack, but to defence.

This analysis is the classic example of fitting "facts" to suit the opinion of the writer.
The 1967 war was well planned in advance and had nothing to do with what Arabs may have been doing at the time.
As for suggesting Palestinians disarm themselves...what planet exactly are you on?.

The underdog is the Palestinian people. What makes you think I am not on their side?

I think you miss the point of the article.

The Zionists are very powerful worldwide.

Unfortunately, there was not much the Palestinians could do in 1948 to stop the setting up of Israel, just as there was not much the people of Grenada could do when they were invaded by the USA.

The 1948 Arab-Israeli war was a disaster for the Palestinians.

The Palestinians have frequently given the Israelis excuses to grab more and more land.

If the Palestinians had remained peaceful in 1948, then Palestine would have had a chance to flourish.

In the case of the 1967 war and the Yom Kippur war, you must admit that the Arabs were not being entirely peaceful.

There are a huge amount of guns in Israel, & you see them all over the place. For Israel's approximately 6.25 million Jews, there are something approaching to a million guns in homes or available to be carried. And there is very little Jew-on-Jew gun crime despite many of the weapons being full-auto (i.e., 'machine guns').

Israel issues concealed weapons permits to Jewish Israelis, & to dual-citizen USA-Israelis who carry guns while in Israel.

About 500,000 are directly civilian guns (gunpolicy.org stats), & there are another half million which are technically government guns but which are carried around by Israel's huge military & reservist population which is approaching a half million people, rather like in Switzerland where a large military reserve is maintained.

Israel has a long positive experience of stopping crimes with guns, e.g., an Arab pulled out a gun in a shopping centre & was immediately shot by several Israeli civilian shoppers carrying concealed weapons, much to the Arab's shock & surprise.

From the press, 21 Nov 2014: "This week, Israeli Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch announced a decision to relax the rules governing the carrying of firearms & the issuance of licenses to carry ... "

There are some fun pictures on the web of three cute female Israeli soldiers around age 18-20 who posted photos of themselves with their full-auto weapons & nude except for their knickers ('panties' for you Yanks out there). The young lasses got into a bit of Israeli army trouble for the spicy undressed-cuties-with-guns pic.

That is one goofy response in the post also. The fake media will tell you about as much concerning lives saved by armed citizens as they tell you about pedophiles. That means very little.

One has to be almost comatose to think the police are going to help you with a home invasion or a robbery or mugging. A person’s defense is up to them. You can either get on your knees or defend yourself.

It is not the duty of the police to protect you. Their job is to protect the Corporation and arrest code breakers. Sapp v. Tallahasee, 348 So. 2nd. 363, Reiff v. City of Philadelphia, 477 F.Supp. 1262, Lynch v. N.C. Dept of Justice 376 S.E. 2nd. 247.

Many americans don’t realize they are under the control of the London Crown Temple.

Guns used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year -- or about 6,850 times a day. This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.

Of the 2.5 million times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, the overwhelming majority merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8% of the time, a citizen will kill or wound his/her attacker.

As many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual abuse.
I personally prefer the sig saur 9mm automatic. I don’t recommend anything heavier than that for a woman. You lose some stopping power with it as opposed to a 40 cal or 45 cal however. The Smith and Wesson lightweights are good, you can carry them in your pocket, but there again you lose stopping power.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been slammed by historians, political leaders and activists alike for trying to rewrite history and absolve former Nazi leader Adolf Hitler of his atrocities, after the PM accused a former Palestinian leader of "inspiring the Holocaust."
