Putin talked of the old Austrian and Polish-Lithuanian Empires creating problems in Ukraine ... he spoke controversially of Poland provoking Hitler's Nazis into World War II, as he claimed to be fighting those 'Nazis' today, much to Tucker Carlson's visible puzzlement.

And in Ukraine things have grown stranger as well. The new military chief is Oleksandr Syrsky, an ethnic Russian - whose father is a retired Russian army colonel, Syrsky's brother also living in Russia.
Syrsky is known for personal loyalty to Zelensky, but also for military failures and not hesitating to send waves of Ukrainian troops to needless slaughter.
