I was in Tbilisi last week and physically saw the demonstrations with my own eyes. Saturday afternoon saw a very small number of demonstrators (100-200 max) with the odd EU flag and NATO flags - not a lot to write home about. They seemed to be just standing around. There was no organisation or a focal point, stage or obvious leader. If they never had the flags you'd walk past thinking nothing of it.
That said, a lot of anti-Russian graffiti and a country that sees itself as being pro Europe. Recent elections would suggest that is perhaps not the case. Perhaps more polarised is the same way US politics are.
Politics and demonstrations aside, a great country with rich heritage and nice weather Tbilisi is a great place to visit and anyone ever has an opportunity - well worth a visit until clownworld decides to break it.
