Was just reminded of the remarkable pioneering role the UK's Honey Lantree played in music history
In 1964, at age 21, Honey Lantree was the drummer for the worldwide hit, 'Have I the Right (to hold you...)' by the Honeycombs, a catchy song driven by her beat ... audiences in many countries were fascinated by this new sight, an appealing young woman banging those drums
Wonderful lady too - the time of worldwide fame did not spoil her, and she led quite a warm life
From 1964, there is an exceptional colour video of her and the band playing their big hit ... Honey Lantree is a joy to watch on the drum set, it's no wonder she inspired so many
