Could it be that our life is just a dream?

Listen up, champ.

You think you're real? Job, family, mortgage? Your day-to-day grind? Nah, that's child's play.

What if I told you that everything you consider "real" is the cosmic equivalent of last night's forgotten dream? Hold onto your fragile sensibilities, because we're about to tear into the fabric of your very being.

Why should you care? If you're content living out your days like a sleepwalker, then sure, go on—ignore this. But for those daring to poke at the edges of consensus reality, this is your wake-up call.

You might just discover that what you call 'awakening' isn't what you think it is.

The Lure of Tangibility: A Mirage in the Desert

You cling to the material world like a child to its teddy bear.

Jobs, cars, houses. It's all just stuff. No, really, all that you hold dear—your trophies of life—are as substantial as morning fog. Not convinced?

Consider Emperor Ashoka. This guy had it all: power, wealth, women. Then it hit him like a ton of bricks—the emptiness of it all. But did he sink into nihilism? No, he embraced the void, ripping away illusion and diving head-first into the unfathomable.

Ashoka didn't just rule an empire; he ruled his own reality by dissolving it.

The Mirage of Waking Up: False Prophets and Snake Oil

You've heard it, the fables of enlightenment.

Gurus, saints, mystics—they've got the elixir to wake you up. Take a sip and everything's hunky-dory, right? Wrong.

Spot the fake from a mile away. Look, every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the spiritual marketplace is selling you enlightenment in a bottle. But real awakening? That's a solo gig. Your very DNA screams for you to wake up. No one can do it for you.

It's self-immolation, not a group hug.

The Nature of the Dream: Hard Pill to Swallow

Get this: Your entire life has been happening inside a bubble.

A self-created, self-sustaining, self-destructing bubble. You're the dreamer, and you're the dreamed. The hero and the villain.

Newton, Space, and Time. Ah, Newton. The apple falls, and suddenly we've got a grasp on reality. What a laugh. Newtonian physics can explain the dream, sure, but it doesn't lay a finger on the dreamer.

You, my friend, exist in a quantum field where Newton's laws are mere doodles.

Unplugging from the Cosmic Matrix

You want actionable advice? Here it is: start doubting.

Doubt everything you know, everything you believe, everything you are. Tear it down, strip it away, and if something's still left standing, doubt that too. Reality is a perpetually collapsing house of cards, and your job isn't to keep it upright…

…it's to pull the cards out, one by one, and witness the tumble. Step up or step off. The snooze button won't pause your existential countdown.

Welcome to the show.

  1. When you break your arm or bones in your hand and there is searing pain going on for hours, if it were just 'imaginary', you wouldn't need your arm in plaster for six weeks after having medical experts reset your bones, would you????

  2. Gnosticism. There's a novel solution. Started just after Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Watch out for the archons and the rabbit holes surrounded by checkerboards.

  3. The sphygnomanometer reading 81/40 after 7 weeks with a febrile illness doesn't know you and your doctors still haven't detected the tick embedded in your back or the large ulcer in which it feeds. The tick might know you can't observe your back or the doctors and nurse never performed a physical exam in the professional sense. The tick doesn't know in the nymph stage it won't engorge on your blood meal or that its parents never dined on a deer, mouse or groundhog that never carried Borrelia burgdorferi but some other bacterial or viral disease endemic to western Pennsylvania. The tick probably doesn't know the Borrelia it carries is in the same phylum, group and order as Treponema pallidum the infectious agent in syphilis. However, I do believe JD Vance, Tim Walz, and Kamala Harris believe they're operating in an internally constructed alternate reality
