After an inconclusive election, Spain's leftist government acted to prolong its power, by doing an amnesty deal for the leaders of independence-seeking Catalonia
Many think this reasonable - the Catalonians are sincere, they tried to break peacefully ... and it seems they have a full legal right to separate, under higher international law:
- Article 1 of the UN Charter guaranteeing 'self-determination of peoples'
- Confirmation of this in 2010 by the Hague International Court in the Kosovo case, that regions have a right to separate like Muslim Kosovo did from Serbia, this is not 'illegal'
But the majority of Spain is angry at the 'deal', the anger led by the right wing, and even thousands of Spanish judges ... they are claiming that this is 'leftist dictatorship', and ending 'rule of law', because they think only of local Spanish laws dis-allowing regional independence.
The Spaniards are refusing to consider the higher, international law on self-determination ... knowing it is perhaps the end of Spain, as those speaking Basque, and the Portuguese-speaking Galicians, may be next to separate.
Adding fuel to the fire, the corrupt EU is supporting the right wing Spanish nationalists in denouncing 'amnesty' for peaceful people ... the EU hates 'self-determination' applying to the Russians of East Ukraine, and to EU citizens and anyone generally

'In an indication of the febrile atmosphere surrounding the deal, a founder of the far-right Vox party was shot in the head and wounded on a street in Madrid. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, 78, had earlier condemned the "infamous amnesty pact", warning that it would make Spain a "totalitarian tyranny". Mr Vidal-Quadras was said to be in a stable condition.'

Bellalta launched a harsh broadside against the influence of Zionism in most of the dramatic events that are taking place in the world and, in this context, asked the Spanish Government to distance itself “from the Zionist State of Israel , which runs a system of apartheid, and practices of racial discrimination , including genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories , as is currently occurring.”
After saying that Catalonia is the Spanish region with the highest percentage of “pro-Zionists” in key positions within politics , communication and finance , the Catalan leader of Soluciona went further and assured that “Zionism controls Catalan nationalism , started by President Artur Mas and the Pujol family."
