Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Sliema
Such an awful hotel. Very poorly run. Room was very dated, hallways were awful it had so many doors it was like being in a prison. Very overpriced for the service you receive. The best thing about the hotel was leaving at the end.

I had stones thrown at me in Castellammare. The police advised me to go to a safer part of Italy.

Food lets this hotel down.
Note it is not possible to sit on the balcony. Note that the shower cubicle in this room is tiny. The food was not up to standard.
We were served tinned vegetables on more than one occasion. Also oven baked potatoes without sauce or even water were really tasteless and inedible. Chicken was served dry without sauce. The quality of the food was not the problem - it was the unimaginative and uncaring way it was cooked.
Nothing had any flavour and the food lacked salt. There was no salt on the tables. The pasta served as the first course was a bit better than the main course, but again lacked flavour and interest. The wine was welcome but perhaps it would be better to spend a bit more on the food.
Breakfast was monotonous but better than the evening meal. The hotel is conveniently situated on the sea front but this is a working town rather than a resort.
The train station is about 10 minutes' walk (Saga trips, of which there were two a week, were on the train, so it was necessary to walk to it and then up some steps so not suitable for some guests.) Late nights and early morning noise was offputting in the corridors, so it is advisable to take ear plugs.
