Microchipping for cats becomes compulsory in England

Today… cats.

Tomorrow… citizens.

No doubt some of the first humans in the West to be microchipped will be ‘eager beaver’ volunteers: grossly naive folks who respond to ‘exciting’ government trials that promise ‘free microchipping’ to patients with dementia & other mental illnesses… the elderly & confused… children whose parents want them microchipped as a ‘safety’ precaution… and individuals whose work entails travel to danger zones.

Then, months or years after these inevitably ‘successful’ ‘trials’ are completed, and the results proclaimed a ‘triumph’….

Expect the compulsion.

Laws mandating microchipping of schoolchildren will be passed in the name of society protecting its vulnerable. Public and private sector employers will follow suit, requiring all new & existing employees to be chipped. The benevolent, omnipotent, state taking tender care of its beloved consumer-drones from cradle to grave.
