PETER HITCHENS: This was the moment at which we began the unstoppable descent into terrible danger which so many of us will bitterly regret in times to come.

Dreary mathematics of war

Ukraine has lost more than one-third of its population
Russian people now outnumber Ukrainian 5 or 6 to 1

Russia has ongoing cash flows, from the 75% of world not on board with 'sanctions', Russian weapons manufacture is running full-scale
Whilst Ukraine must constantly beg for funds and weapons, and some of those weapons arriving are quickly destroyed

Top advisors from Germany, from Poland, from Zelensky's inner circle - all admit Ukraine has likely lost the war, regardless of how many more NATO weapons are sent

Seems it is now only a question of how many more die before the conclusion

Data:

Ukraine had a population of 42 million before the February 2022 Russian incursion
17.6 million have departed, per the United Nations
chart of where they went

1 or 2 million exiles have gone back to Ukraine, leaving Ukraine with something under 28 million people
... tho several million of those are now in Russian-controlled areas
whilst Russia had 146 million people before its annexations, perhaps 150 million now under its control

German General Erich Vad, formerly top advisor to Angela Merkel who helped arm Ukraine in the 2010s, admits the Ukraine war is lost

Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former commander of Polish Land Forces, says there is little that can be done to help Ukraine achieve victory ... tho he recommends rounding up all the Ukrainian refugee men in the EU of fighting age, and forcing them to go into battle as a final effort

Aleksey Arestovich (Oleksiy Arestovych), former top advisor to Ukraine President Zelensky, has resigned and says it is unlikely Ukraine can win

Must suck to be ukrainian.. Yeah, naturally you're going to want tanks, if you want to win a war, it's better than no tanks.
