BEIJING -- Israel's Embassy in China is protesting what it describes as “blatant antisemitism” on a program run by the overseas channel of state broadcaster CCTV discussing the ongoing violence in Gaza and elsewhere.

China’s new Foreign Minister Qin Gang, concluding his first trip abroad, has called on Israel to avoid further provocations that could escalate tensions with the Palestinians. Speaking at a press conference Sunday in Cairo, where he met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Zhukri at the end of his five-country African tour, Qin called on Israel to stop all incitement and provocations and avoid unilateral actions that could aggravate the situation. He added that China is deeply concerned about the deterioration of relations between Israel and Palestine.
