The last ABC figures we have for these titles are as follows:
The Sun: 1,210,915 (March 2020)
The Sun on Sunday: 1,013,777 (March 2020)
The Sunday Times: 647,622 (March 2020)
The Times: 365,880 (March 2020)

The Observer: 136,656 (July 2021)

The biggest annual declines were at the Sunday People (down 20% to 82,275) and Sunday Post (down 19% to 48,938).

Very often these poor excuses for print media are given away free at airports etc.
I don't know or care who Aangirfan is, but I have been reading your blog and occasionally commenting for over 20 years. I think a few of the conspiracy theories posted on your blog, are totally ridiculous, but most of them make far more sense, than anything in the mainstream media. I note your interest in Dumfries, so guess you have a big affection for Dumfries...Scotland..I think my Dad was sent there before and during World War 1 to a posh school - All Boys. He told me - he hated it and just wanted to meet my mum, which he obviously did in 1939, or I wouldn't be here. The Metro (DMGT) is stapled together unlike other "newspapers" at the request of railway companies / TFL as a pre condition of free distribution in that environment.
A huge floor space area ( much more than for journalism ) at DMGT is devoted towards advertising. The primary source of revenue which is a function of distribution figures. More readers = higher prices for the ads.
Since the advent of the internet there has been a marked decline in this revennue.
Hence the ever willing acceptance of government funding to print propaganda not news.
If one views the DM online the abscence of real reporting and its replacement with childish ideologically founded propaganda and chaff is obvious.
With a few exceptions the quality of journalism has descended lower than the pit of Hades.
That is of course if you can actually find any actual news or informative articles to critique amongst the endless Harry & Megan Royal bilgewater, scantily dressed tarts referred to by their first name on the right hand side of the online version.
Or demonstrably false and misleading pro war Putin dun it nonsense in support of the delinquent military industrial complex.
I say this as a now ashamed former employee ( not editorial ).
We stand upon the intentionally engineered edge of the abyss and this BS it the best the Daily Mail can report shame on them.

Wouldn’t the powers-that-be just love this trend to take hold throughout the West, then the world? ‘Thinning out’ the surplus
population, as they would describe it. Namely, the old, the frail, the terminally ill and those with serious health conditions and illnesses, people with disabilities, people with learning disabilities, the homeless, the unemployed, people on low incomes, the indigent, and many other categories of ‘social undesirables’.
