Jim Sillars says that the fallout from the Alex Salmond trial will be like a “volcanic eruption” and says something “new” and “untainted” may have to replace the SNP.
And of course the same applies to politics in so many parts of the world - we need new parties.

"Today the prosecution concluded its case against Alex Salmond.
"The most important point was that, now the final prosecution witness has been called, we can conclusively say that the Crown did not produce a single eye witness to any of the 13 alleged incidents.
"This is even though many of them occurred in public; at a photo opportunity in Stirling Castle, in restaurants, in a vehicle with other occupants.
"It is strange that a behaviour allegedly so continuous and so compulsive was simultaneously so invisible.
"The nearest thing the crown had to an eye witness was Mr Donald Cameron, head of the private office of Leslie Evans, Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government. Cameron agreed that there was not, to his knowledge, any policy against female civil servants working alongside Mr Salmond in Bute House, which claim had been the major trial media headline on Friday morning."

Alex Salmond trial witness, Woman H, made up her allegations about Alex Salmond?
Alex Salmond case
Woman H has previously told the court that Salmond had "pounced on her" after a dinner at Bute House in June 2014, pulled her clothes off, pushed her onto a bed and then lay naked on top of her despite her protests.
McCall put it to her that: "You weren't there at that dinner and there was no incident."
Ms McCall had earlier read out Mr Salmond's official diary for the months in question, which did not mention the Bute House dinner.
When asked why she had not called for a Bute House security guard to help that night, she said: "I really wish that I had.

Woman H said she had told her husband while they were on holiday together some time later that she was considering speaking to SNP headquarters about some "bad things" involving Mr Salmond that had happened to her during the independence referendum campaign, but had not gone into any detail.
Under cross-examination, Woman H described a personal political project in which she had been involved.
The court was shown texts between Woman H and Tasmina Ahmed-Sheik, a former SNP MP, where Woman H appeared to ask if "Alex will be OK" with it and saying it would be "great to be working with him again".
The court was also shown an email from Woman H to Mr Salmond in which she invited him to attend a fundraising event in 2017.

What a total, total surprise.
A "National State of Emergency" being the perfect pretext for this, and a thousand other semi-totalitarian and anti-democratic measures the PTB are poised to announce within the coming days.
Hello again forever, European Superstate.
