But it is dangerous now to try to prevent war, on the basis that Iran 'must be innocent' of the Gulf shipping attacks

Given that Iran has been repeatedly threatening since last year, to block the Hormuz Straits, and sabotage global oil sales, in response to sanctions ... Which Iran may well be justified in doing, given the deaths of innocent Iranians caused by the sanctions

The real issue is the illegal USA sanctions, an illegal act of war and war crime ... and how Iran has a legal & moral right to fight back

Possibly the USA may be able to show, during the next round, that in just this one case, Iran really did do the Gulf shipping attacks ... Iran taking cover under the USA habit of lying & false flags, with a 'false flag reverse'

But we should all still oppose the war, even if it is true that Iran did attack the ships

Iran has a right to self-defence against a hostile world ... the world, including EU - Russia - China, are not helping Iran enough against the sanctions ... Iran is backed into a corner

Iran arguably has a right to fight rather than accept being destroyed, with Iranian children dying over the next 5 years from sanctions
