KIRKCUDBRIGHT GALLERIES

The Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright, in Dumfries and Galloway, has a new major art gallery.

'Kirkcudbright Galleries' is open 7 days a week.

On Sundays the galleries open at 12 noon.

The ground floor gallery has art related to the Kirkcudbright area.

(Many thanks to the people who sent us all the photos)

There are paintings by such artists as S J Peploe, William Mouncey, the Faeds, W S MacGeorge, Malcolm Harper, Charles Oppenheimer, E A Hornel, E A Taylor, Jessie M King, Phylis Bone and Robert Sivell.

Some top-class 'Kirkcudbright artists' do not appear to have any of their works on display in the 'Kirkcudbright Galleries'.

We are thinking for example of Moira Beaty and Colin Park.

The gallery on the First Floor features changing exhibitions.

The lighting on the First Floor is better than on the ground floor. Some of the doors in the gallery are somewhat 'stiff'.

The cafe at Kirkcudbright Galleries serves cakes and sandwiches but no alcohol.

Below are some photos of Kirkcudbright.
