THE MEANING OF LIFE

Science and Religion.

Here are some people's thoughts about life:

1. "It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received.

"It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters."

2. "Nature doesn't disdain what lives only for a day.

"It pours the whole of itself into the each moment. We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last.

"Life's bounty is in its flow, later is too late.

"Where is the song when it's been sung? The dance when it's been danced?"

3. 'Religion comes in opposites to be attractive to different personalities.'

- Steven Reiss , a professor of psychologist at Ohio State University.

According to Reiss, organised religions address the 16 basic human desires - curiosity, acceptance, family, honour, idealism, independence, order, physical activity, power, romance, saving, social contact, eating, status, tranquility and vengeance.

Bart D. Ehrman

4.  The real Jesus reportedly taught that we should tune in to the Holy Spirit, love our enemies, see our own faults before we see the faults of others, heal the sick, feed the hungry and treat our fellow citizens as our brothers.

Most of the rest of the stuff about Jesus is apparently invention.

Tony Bushby writes: "In the fourth century, the Roman Emperor Constantine united all religious factions under one composite deity, and ordered the compilation of new and old writings into a uniform collection that became the New Testament."

"Constantine's intention at Nicaea was to create an entirely new god for his empire...

"Presbyters were asked to debate and decide who their new god would be... The names of 53 gods were tabled for discussion."

(God's Book of Eskra, Prof. S. L. MacGuire's translation, Salisbury, 1922, chapter xlviii, paragraphs 36, 41).

The Forged Origins of The New Testament.

"The earliest of the manuscripts of the New Testament which are still in existence, do not date back beyond the middle of the fourth century AD."

(Catholic Encyclopedia, op. cit., pp. 656-7).

The World's oldest Bible is the Sinai Bible.

"When the New Testament in the Sinai Bible is compared with a modern-day New Testament, a staggering 14,800 editorial alterations can be identified."

5. Lyndon Nadel writes:

You may have seen this Symbol. It is a Dragon eating his own Tail. It is the ancient symbol for time.

It represents Infinite time, where time begins, ends, and continues all at the same point.

What we live in, is named Infinite time. Meaning that time has already begun, finished and continued down every path.

Every possible scenario that could be carried out in time, has already done so.

Every possible dimension that could exist, has already existed and is currently in existence. All at the same moment.

The time in which we are experiencing at this present moment, has already been concluded, in every possible direction that it could occur.

In one dimension, we all die of a nuclear world war III, in another we all live prosporous lives and man kind reaches out into the stars after conquering human suffering.

It has already happened, and it will happen again.

Lyndon Nadel writes:

We do not have the power to alter or change time; our brains only offer us the opportunity to choose the destiny that we witness.

We pick and choose every moment, which dimension we head down in our finite lives.

Bare in mind, that you are not altering the universe in anyway; you are not changing what will occur; you are merely chosing between the events you wish to witness in this life.

Because every senario has has a different ending, and every moment leads to a different dimension...

Reincarnation Explained.   Time is NOT linear.

6. Anthony Peake takes the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics as a literal truth and merges this idea with the time theory of John William Dunne (1875–1949) which says that the past, present and future all exist simultaneously with the outcome being that people can enter the future in dreams or the past by deja vu.

  2. Of course all the quoted examples are theories, not facts.
Tell one of these moronic zio-christians in the USA that parts of the old testament have been taken from the ancient Egyptians book of the dead...and they won't be interested.
They don't want to know...such facts would upset them. You can see why religious maniacs in the past put someone with an enquiring mind in jail simply for saying the earth went around the sun.
Jews are putting people in jail in Europe for saying the holocaust is a lie......
(The disease chart is somewhat pathetic Jew)

  6. “And now over to an evangelical (broadly, and a bit post- at that) vision of God - good points...”

The need to believe the NT, or Old for the matter, is ‘made-up by outsiders’ because the earliest manuscripts are... well, said to be at best, dated much-much later than the supposed happenings. This is a fair claim but it ain’t at all settled to what extent and why?

Could be deceptive shenanigans from those with intent to knock up fairy-tale bunkum, perhaps deluded in visions grand, or maybe them be trippin’ on shrooms? Or how about the obvious fox; to mong-out the masses and get em all sucking up to and on d’bosses? And the formation of which books became the Bible? Was it all-Constantine, picking names and notions out like a raffle?

Being in the blow-the-lid-off popular history - with good reason and evidence - scene, there’s somewhat gagging expecting (and hope?) with yet more to unfold: It’s the Bible that wins scam of the centuries.

For 90++% who don’t get Jesus is God, personally wrapped-up in and with: answers, questions and keys... Well, y’all only have to scan born-again-ville and wider, for the most part, to be left cold with understandable dismay. With this, the conclusions above ring bells that sound sense. That ‘apparently’ most what’s recorded as Jesus is ‘invented’ and that’s why the salt and shine is absent from purported orthodox versions. Agnostics stay with ‘tis mystery-beyond’ some keeping council with other faiths but all in all - kernels of love aside - the mainstream alternative reckoning is: this gospel-stuff’s been re-mixed and truth blurred beyond confidence to believe.

A quick tap, web-wise, and there’s mucho-countering, hands up, open and wide Bart. He’s jolly informative and intellectually stirring but are we gonna, ‘get-up-off out our seats and stand at the front’ - become dead-again believers? Me think not but I’m glad he’s having a go.

Responses I won’t attempt for space-sake. Looked about. Greg Boyd who went to graduate school with Bart brings a short ‘n swift, respectful, ‘how do you respond?’.

Yet again, I commend this rare-is, public humility, that openly asks, the meaning of life, tell a bit, but ask on... Christians are supposedly called to follow this line. Paradox: potential conviction to the uttermost yet, ask, seek, knock...

Listen to the lion, not to be tamed or caged. May Jesus speak.

    Mark

  7. Number two really hit home, for someone like me who is stuck in the past and can't wait for the future, I have to learn to seize the day! In his books on hylozoics, Henry T. Laurency covers reincarnation extensively, saying the meaning of life is the consciousness development of the monad from the lowest to the highest natural kingdom.

  10. I reckon God should have put a chapter at the end of the Bible on quantum physics, that would have fucked up us liberals.

  11. It seems people are catching-up with the “Block Theory” of our current state?

    https://youtu.be/F8G-eq7uGX4

Considering that we, and everything is really, “space,” at the nucleic-level, and doesn’t exist until it’s observed, there are many paradoxes? Even then the physical nucleic ‘structure’ apparently vibrates, so there would be many frequencies that if not in-phase, would generate many ‘universes’ to ‘phase’ in and out of?

I never really understood Mouni Sadhu’s comment, “As I sit here outside of time, [in the ‘Now,’] looking at my watch...” until recently when many sources ‘re-found’ the ‘Now’ concept.

To be totally present in the now, devoid of thought, it’s postulated earthly-time ceases?

This makes me wonder at Tolle, he is very interesting to listen to. Some lectures instil a deep peace and wonder within me yet others seem idiotic. [Good bunce, though!]

Many decades ago, researching a deep-trance spritual ‘demonstration’ a question was asked if our bodies were frozen at death would the soul also be? I stopped the tape I was using to record the research, mentalising an expletive! Uncannily, upon playing the recording back afterwards, I had to slow it down as it sped-up. The reason I was given by the demonstrator, was that the ‘Human-Group’ vibration sped-up while the tape-recorder existed in ‘Earth-time!’

At that time, while reading Jung’s Civilisation in Transition and researching Ouija-board, I found a ‘Contact’ that explained it difficult to ‘phase’ into ‘my’ time as ‘he/it/?’ ‘is’ sitting on a mountain-top while ‘my’ time stretched-out like a river below.

It’s possible over the many decades, that I am/was being ‘told’ to take some ‘path?’ Don’t have much ‘time’ left, however.
