Above we see a nuclear waste pond at Sellafield, in North West England.

"Dilapidated nuclear waste storage ponds, abandoned 40 years ago, containing hundreds of tonnes of fuel rods, pose an immediate danger to public safety, photographs sent to The Ecologist reveal.

"The fuel and sludge in the ponds could spontaneously ignite if exposed to air, spreading intense radiation over a wide area."

Leaked Sellafield photos reveal 'massive radioactive release threat'

Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway have three sites with dangerous nuclear connections.

Nuclear expert John Large says "It's not for me to make comparisons with Chernobyl or Fukushima, but it could certainly cause serious contamination over a wide area and for a very long time."

  4. "He specifically stated that the burn down was so complete that the spent fuel was safe to handle directly with bare hands, and needed no special care or maintenance at all, and after I questioned him about exactly how safe, said you could safely sleep on it. I questioned him several times, saying he must be exaggerating, but he said ALL radiological potential was used, and the fuel was completely inert at the end of the final cycle".

  5. Aang - its Carol. Someone sent me the Sellafield link and so i sent it on to you. The Jim Stone link someone has put on above is good too. Please link to it and update. They are suppressing technology for themselves and their masters.
Another piece of UK info: Murrin and the Lawyer Bullock have demanded the UK Interior Minister resign. All of the UK politicians were written to. The Minister refused to resign but the Junior Minister did. Bullock can PROVE the cover up.

    1. Dear Carol,

I've added the Jim Stone link to the text.

  6. Hiya Aang, this is maybe irrelevant/off topic sightly but it concerns the storage of radio-active waste @ Bush Estate, where Dolly the sheep was "grown"/ invented.

"A university spokesman said those potentially hazardous materials could include “small quantities” of waste produced from animal therapy and research into animal health."

I don't know if you have ever passed the place, but security is tight to say the least.

Thanks for the prior post link (again), it is appreciated. I will endeavor to start posting again.
