WHAT THE DIPLOMATS ARE SAYING
Scotland suffered in certain respects after it joined up with England.
When Scotland joined the Union its population was one-fifth of England's.
After 300 years of Union it is now one-tenth of England's.
Scotland likely to choose independence, foreign diplomats believe
Sources in the diplomatic corps in Edinburgh, which has nearly 50 consulates and diplomatic missions, told the Guardian that they think the tide of opinion has shifted against the NO campaign.
One senior diplomat said: "it is now likely, but not certain" that Scotland would vote yes in September 2014.
Another foreign government source said most diplomats did not believe that Scotland's economy would suffer badly after independence.
Scotland likely to choose independence, foreign diplomats believe
The international credit ratings agency Fitch said that in the event of a YES vote the London government would want to make sure independence caused as little disruption as possible to the economy.
It predicted the UK would compromise with Scotland on key economic issues.

The People of a Country can demand and vote for what they want.....but the Bankers say yea or nay...........
We are certainly living in interesting times. As an englishman i hope Scotland votes yes as we in england need to break away at some point from westminster and "the crown" and i believe a yes vote is the first positive step for both nations.

Will it be allowed? Will a YES vote be respected, politicians have hinted it will not. Will the wish to be nuclear free be allowed? Some sources in MoD have stated that Faslane would be annexed. Will the "official" campaign be interfered with? Already Britain's state broadcaster BBC has been given special programmes and reports to broadcast as "news." Will the vote itself be fair? After 1979 vote on devolution was won by SNP the result was disallowed due to a voting criteria not being met, no new vote was allowed. Postal votes are east to rig and voters are being advised to use an ink pen to vote rather than pencil by some in the YES campaign. Is adverse publicity being used to influence the campaign? Notable titles The Telegraph, The Daily Mail and to a lesser extent others too, have been using planted stories from military intelligence to discredit those in favour of independence. A Labour MP, who claimed to be at the centre of a hate campaign of intimidation and vandalism to his constituency office was found to have been lying, no vandalism or intimidation took place, this revelation never made the news despite the big splash the original made. Print and TV news, internet trolls, Labour, LibDem and Tory Parties, selected "spooky" MPs and dark hints of undemocratic process and violence have all been offered by the UK government alongside ridiculous statements about taking pandas from zoos, refusing to buy power and bombing Scotland's airports. This could be the most undemocratic, dangerous, dirty campaign that military intelligence have engaged in on their own soil, worse because they are given free rein by a weak coalition government. If Scotland becomes independent both it and the rest of the UK have a chance for TRUE democracy. If not the power behind the power will win and further attempts at democracy or dissent in the UK will be crushed
Anony 14.53 the writing, regrettably is on the wall.
Take a good hard look at Ukraine today, and tell me it is any different to Poland pre WWll, with America today replicating Germany, then. It's America or the Planet.
