CAUSED BY COLD WEATHER?

Unknown commented -

On a global basis, are very high temperatures REALLY more deadly than very low ones (as the Net Zero aligned media invariably imply?)

Or is the opposite true — That worldwide, the greatest ‘climate danger’ facing humans is being too COLD?

Heat inequality ‘causing thousands of unreported deaths in poor countries’

“Heat inequality is causing thousands of unreported deaths in poor countries and communities across the world, a leading analyst of climate impacts has warned, following global temperature records that may not have been seen in 120,000 years …

“‘“Heatwaves are the deadliest type of extreme weather …’ [said Friederike Otto, a senior lecturer in climate science at the Grantham Institute of Imperial College London] …

“‘Extreme heat is increasingly tearing through economies … and killing people …’ [said António Guterres, the UN secretary general] …”

The Lancet, 2021:

“In most places, the temperature is more often too cold than too hot, which helps explain why more than 90 percent of temperature-related deaths [are] from cold, according to [a study published in the Lancet in 2021].

“On every continent, cold deaths surpassed heat deaths …”

The Lancet, 2015:

“Our findings show that temperature is responsible for advancing a substantial fraction of deaths, corresponding to 7·71% of mortality in the selected countries within the study period.

“Most of this mortality burden was caused by days colder than the optimum temperature (7·29%), compared with days warmer than the optimum temperature (0·42%) …

“Cold was responsible for a higher proportion of deaths than was heat …”

  1. Those that care about humanity know that cold is a greater killer than heat, although it a problem focussed far more on higher latitudes than closer to the equator.

Those who chase funding, seek payments for opinions tend to plug 'dangers of heat'.

  2. For every 1 death caused by heat 20 are caused by the cold.

The idea that heat is responsible for deaths in the same way the cold is - is just another pile of tripe.

Take the UK alone, the elderly dying in their drives in the middle of summer???? Nah it's winter - remember, just like a massive uptick in respiratory conditions likewise.

Wait until the crops fail because there are significantly fewer pollinators - because if the cold. The Climate Intelligence Panel (whoever the f@#£ they are) predicted a 27 % lower crop yield for the UK (because of the cold weather). Now, let's fast forward 3 years.......that 27% predicted for this year is suddenly 50% if we continue on the same trajectory.

The cold will continue to kill as it does. No doubt as the SNP clowns that run Scotland with their Kommunist pals in Westminster have scrapped the winter fuel allowance for many, we'll probably see another uptick in the elderly dying because of the cold. Last I checked they don't get a summer fuel allowance......I wonder why????

No doubt the boat clowns will be warm though, they don't need to worry too much about fuel bills - just a thought.

    1. "27 % lower crop yield for the UK"

Sorry, typo, it was meant to be 17%. Fat finger syndrome strikes.

  6. Starbucks’ Howard Schultz

“Schultz was involved in a long-standing group chat from October 2023 through early May 2024 …

“Members of the group chat, including Schultz, discussed how they received private briefings by, and worked closely with, members of the Israeli government, including former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett; Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli war cabinet; and Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog ..
