  1. They always playing game people still can't figure it out.
German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): nickname from German braun 'brown' (Middle High German brūn), referring to the color of the hair, complexion, or clothing. German: from the personal name Bruno, which was borne by the Dukes of Saxony, among others, from the 10th century or before.

  2. Indeed the name 'Braun' in a Poland hints at Jewish ancestry, and Braun himself evades question about a Jewish ancestor. But this is standard in Poland, where maybe 20 or 25% of Poles will have one Jewish ancestor and perhaps are 1/16th or similar Jewish.

It's actually a common phenomenon where mixed-heritage people can take strong positions in culture-conflicts re immigration and nationalities, as they know the difficulties more personally ... for example:
    - huge numbers, one-third or more, of Latinos in the USA against more immigration and supporting Trump etc
    - Netherlands election winner Geert Wilders, part-Indonesian, part-Jewish it seems, wife who is described as Turkish or Jewish in heritage
    - Czech 'far-right' anti-immigration political leader Tomio Okamura, half-Japanese
    - lots of Poles quietly aware of a Jew, German or other in the ancestral line

  3. This menorah extinguishing was an important event in modern Poland. The giant menorah is a recurring Chabad project, turning part of the Polish Parliament into a shrine to Chabad, including an icon portrait of Rabbi Schneerson to the left of the menorah, as you see in this photo

Rabbi Schneerson who declared "The entire creation of a non-Jew is only for the sake of the Jews" ... Poles ask, why is a supremacist Jew like Schneerson who declares non-Jews to be inferior, being honoured in Poland's parliament like this?

Adding to the pain of Poles is how Christmas nativity scenes etc are increasingly restricted in public areas for 'separation of church and state' ... yet this Jewish religious shrine is being not only allowed, but promoted

Hanukkah itself celebrates Jewish victory over Europeans, over Greeks who were horrified at circumcision as barbaric mutilation of children, and made war on Jewry trying to stop it ... so a question is, why does a European state celebrate the defeat of Europeans by Jews, when those Europeans were trying to protect children?

People are also asking why with so few Jews in Poland, so many are in leading roles in Polish government, as in this photo of a Jewish dinner here, Polish gov figures identified

A re-lighting of the menorah attended by the Polish President and under high security is now planned ... bomb threats have been made, feelings are running high

After Grzegorz Braun's actions with the fire extinguisher and the menorah, Braun is in some sectors a Polish national hero now, whilst he also incurs huge scorn for his actions. The Polish parliament "announced that they had issued the maximum possible punishment, which was half of Braun’s parliamentary salary for a period of three months and his entire parliamentary allowance for six months ... an application against him will be submitted to the prosecutor"

  4. If there are so many people calling you out for what your doing that they had to make up a word for it. It's not the people calling you out that are the problem.
