Aangirfan's Indonesia photos

Am enchanted with Aangirfan's Indonesia photos, were they ever all collected somewhere?

Google Photos - can maybe use the blogspot account? - allows unlimited numbers of photos, as does also the Behance photo sharing site

Flickr is nice too but only allows 1000 photos on the 'free' version.

  • It is very difficult to find certain photos with certain search engines.
  • Soon all material that is not approved of by 'the Powers That Be' will be hidden?

  1. This ceremony holds the people in contempt?

‘Addition to the ancient coronation ceremony will see people across the UK and overseas realms invited to swear allegiance to Charles’

“Plans to ask the public to pledge their allegiance to the king during the coronation have been branded ‘offensive, tone deaf and a gesture that holds the people in contempt’ by a pressure group [Republic] …”

  2. Thank you very deeply, the photos are a great treasure

Have looked at some of your photos with an Indonesian friend, she enjoyed them profoundly as well ... and she felt a bit of nostalgia looking at them, partly because Indonesia itself has been changing a little, but also because the photos have a distinctive warm character, perhaps given the changes in photography tools ... almost as if the world had a different kind of lighting and colour palette just a few years ago

500px is a nice site too, but apparently now in the free version, there is a low weekly limit to uploads even tho they don't limit the total number of photos

    Thank you again

  3. China does USA-style 'Economic Hit Man' on Indonesia ... half a billion for China taken from Indonesia's poor, as Java high-speed train deal goes sour

    Nikkei Asia news:

"Indonesia worries about whether it might fall into Sri Lanka-like debt trap

Belt and Roadblocks: More of China's borrowers fall into distress

In 2015, Indonesian President Joko Widodo chose China over Japan to build the railway because the date of completion was set for as early as 2018, with trains to start rolling a year later.

What appears to be a terminus station building in Jakarta retains a skeletal appearance with a roof of reinforcing steel bars but nothing more.

The delay has raised total construction costs by about 40%, forcing the Indonesian government to raid state coffers for 7 trillion rupiah ($468 million).

Now complaints about the decision to go with China over Japan can be heard from certain corners of the government.

More than 150 countries, hungry for funds and infrastructure, have concluded deals with China.

But friction is now growing ... A growing number of countries are now wary of launching new projects with China

Neither superpower [China or USA] has been able to win extensive respect. Perhaps the message here is it takes more than money and a strong military to expand influence in today's world."
