FLU VACCINES - STREP - FUNGAL INFECTION ....

Flumist Quadrivalent (AstraZeneca) is not marketed to children in the UK.

The nasal spray flu vaccine being given to young children in the UK is a Live Attenuated Flu Vaccine (or LAIV) called Fluenz Tetra, also manufactured by AstraZeneca.

The two vaccines are very similar and could have an identical formulation, but they are legally distinct.

How is covid19 pneumonia a side effect ðŸ¤”🤣

Also H3N2 is listed as a side effect and that is the exact flu strain circulating and making people ill right now.

This is a similar situation to the Covid vaccines, where different named (but apparently "identical") vaccines had a different legal/approved status (eg the Pfizer BioNTech Cominarty vaccine which has full authorisation in the US, and Pfizer BioNTech BNT162b2 vaccine which only has Emergency Use Authorisation).

The suspicion is that the nasal flu vaccine compromises a child's immunity to other types of infection, and this has allowed Strep A to cause a serious condition called Invasive Group A Streptococcus (or IGAS).

Incidentally, Strep A is shorthand for Streptococcus Pyogenes, not Streptococcus pneumoniae so the following study may be more relevant.

Influenza A virus-infected hosts boost an invasive type of Streptococcus pyogenes infection in mice.

  1. laired as post title cites the wrong vaccine brand. Flumist Quadrivalent (AstraZeneca) is not marketed to children in the UK.
