HOLIDAY RESORT - SAGA HOLIDAYS - SORRENTO AREA

Castellammare di Stabia.

What I remember about Castellammare di Stabia in Italy -

Young lads threw stones at me.

The police advised me to go elsewhere in Italy.

Castellammare is famous for being a base of the Mafia group known as the Camorra.

The Police Station.

Castellammare di Stabia, explosion in the Police Station

'An explosion occurred inside the Police Station of Castellammare di Stabia.

'In 2016, two Van Gogh paintings, stolen from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in 2002, were recovered in a villa in Castellammare di Stabia, owned by Raffaele Imperiale, 46, a boss of the Naples-based Camorra organisation.

'In 2015, Naples police and community leaders warned that Camorra clans are recruiting unemployed teenagers to kill and terrorize rivals and local people with Kalashnikovs.'

The beach

Comments -

'Castellammare is run down and littered with rubbish. The station and port are 10 min walk away from the Hotel Stabia, (used by Saga holidays.)'

'The beach - well lets just say nobody was using it, probably one of the worst beaches I've seen.'

'This place is not really somewhere for tourists to stay.'

Saga Holidays -

'Away from the bustling resorts, your holiday provides the opportunity to experience authentic local life in Castellammare di Stabia.'

Lol, sounds like it was a interesting, non fear-mongering article, with a different perspective from the one we usually hear, We certainly mustn’t have THAT on the public service broadcaster!
