For the Aangirfan library of healing and self-healing knowledge.
There is a successful set of techniques used to heal people's traumas, using the fact that trauma is recorded physically in the body.
'Trauma Releasing Exercises' or TRE used in part, by people with 'Adverse Childhood Experiences' or ACEs ... of whom many have been readers here on this site.
The techniques grow out of observation of animals, who somewhat 'shake away' their trauma, once they are out of danger
...
We are taught that it is better as adults not to shake or tremble
But in fact this can discharge the stress both of recent traumas, and of ancient ones, and thus prevent the traumas - and their associated negative ideas and emotions - from lodging in our bodies and haunting us
The benefits are palpable to many, and some people describe themselves as having their lives and minds saved by this
There are some rather simple yoga-type positions, which as you start to do them, will lead your body to shake or move in long-neglected ways
If you indulge and let go and do not worry about 'being silly' ... the feeling of healing can be powerful
Here is a description page providing some text introduction and history
What is TRE (Trauma Release Exercise)?
"Believer", and, up for. Needed a preach on. Thanks, Aangirfan.

Dear Mark,
DeleteGood to hear from you!

Only indirectly related: I saw a documentary on the traditional healing of fractures and related problems in Inner Mongolia. The traditional rural lifestyle meant that such problems were common. The government is helping to preserve this knowledge.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I saw, the doctor spits/blows some liquid onto the problem area. Then, he binds the limb/joint between 2 boards. That's it. The patients shows immediate relief. Radiography confirms the cure - within a few days.

Many thanks.

ReplyDeleteTruly weird. Some of the really weird stuff though can have therapeutic benefits, nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteA friend described something similar to this. A therapy group where shouting, screaming and flailing your arms whilst doing really random stuff.
Most people (me included) would be massively out with their comfort zone. It is indeed very animalistic and the ego would likely interfere (to begin with).
Anything overtly public: singing, dancing, shouting, tremble therapy etc. is an area where ego and self consciousness would conspire against us.
Another therapy that has a spiritual dynamic attached - Dark Therapy. A retreat in Guatemala offers enlightened individuals this form of meditation/experience.
The thinking behind it is thus: complete darkness removes us from the physical senses. It allows the seeker to remove time perception also.
Like a seed that is germinating in darkness, the individual can trigger a multi staged chemical reaction in the brain.
Don't hold me to account for bad science, however, the experience should trigger higher levels of melatonin and result in the production of pinolen from the pineal gland.
The sensory depravation and the optimised conditions could (in the right individual) position them with the experience they seek.
Not just physical, the approach must be centred and selfless. A mental approach would be essential if any success is to be realised.
Great stuff. It is always nice to hear about the alternatives.
Thanks.
Peace to the humans.
Many thanks.

The description above of "shouting, screaming and flailing your arms whilst doing really random stuff" sounds very much like the technique devised by the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (aka Osho)for his followers.
DeleteHe said he proscribed these exercises specifically for his Western followers because traditional Eastern techniques were too subtle for the highly agitated minds of 'Westerners'.
Thus he believed 'we' had to be deprogrammed and relieved of our highly agitated, sexually obsessed mindsets before any effective spiritual advancement could take place.
It was truly extraordinary to witness these group 'exercises' at his ashram in Pune, with more than 100 devotees all screaming, crying and flailing about for several minutes, reaching a frenzied crescendo before falling into a relaxed silence.
This spectacle preceded each group meeting with the Bhagwan, before the 'puja' reverted to more tradition meditative exercises, followed by a sermen, and seemed highly effective in releasing stress.
While I was not a devotee - or sannyasin' - of Osho and harbour serious concerns as to his overall behaviour and motivations, he certainly had a good understanding and of the 'Western' mind, which was why he was such an effective communicator of the principles of Eastern spirituality.

You are well travelled.

I have seen the vids. Often looking more like psychosis. It is well known that Bhagwan got his techniques from all over the world. Here in the Netherlands a young woman made a docu that there was pedofilia in the ashrams and she was sexually abused by adults. In the end in the USA it became a military regime. Bhagwan in his many Rolls Royces. He was a fraud. In the beginning days i often was around devotees attending Rebirthing workshops. Another technique the remaining Osho followers hijacked.
DeleteNative people liked the Shakers! Was it because they had similar beliefs? Plain people who had real expertise in a lot of areas as well as their beliefs which got the name. Also did not try and amass a lot of stuff like Natives.
ReplyDeleteI also strongly recommend EFT (tapping)which has even been used on the NHS. It involves simply tapping on accupuncture/meridian points around the head and body, whilst thinking/making statements of past traumas, releases somatised/blocked trauma. Its changed my life, scouts honour!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems to work.

With animals it is an automatic reaction to release trauma. Not a learned technique. Surviving PTSD i have often had it and now it is returning. Wondering if that has to do with Covid or the many docus i am watching to learn the true history about the Bolsjevik Revolution and Hitler, Britain, USA, France etc. in WW II. Wondering if back then they already knew about Geoengineneering and manufactured that all of a sudden Winter, when Moscow was almost surrendering. It seems to be a game and all players members if Occult orders and in truth Buddies. Hitler included. Fan of Blavatsky, member of 2 Occult lodges and in a fit of rage screaming they all betrayed him. Who are the they. His Free Masonic or Aryan buddies. Remember Newton was an Aryan, a title for certain occult training and nothing to do with skincolour.
DeleteStay healthy!
