QUANTUM DARWINISM

Life has possiblities.

You think that the polar bear will have returned to your garden.

Your wife, son and daughter think that the polar bear will not have returned.

Do minds create matter?

According to some of the scientists who study quantum physics, the definite properties of an object, such as position, are selected from a menu of  possibilities.

This is said to be like 'natural selection' in Darwin's theory of evolution.

The properties that survive are in some sense the 'fittest.'

'Fittest' means "better designed for a local environment".

When you go into the garden, there is no polar bear, but there is a dove.

Philip Ball has written about Quantum Darwinism

A particle can have a range of possible states, known as a 'superposition.'

  1. Check out Prof. Rupert Sheldrake's 1981 theory of morphic resonance. It is (as I understand it) that useful forms or behaviours (a) increase in frequency over time (b) occur independently in more than one place around the same time.

E.g. (a) morphology: 2 diverse taxonomic groups (including symbionts) converging in form, colour, etc., or a specie mutating dramatically in a new environment (b) ontogeny, mitosis and behaviour (c) growing ease in synthesising a new compound after initial discoverys (d) as implied by Derek de Solla Price (1982), ideas.
