Two American tourists stumble upon Brigadoon, a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years.
Tommy, one of the tourists, falls in love with Fiona, a young woman from Brigadoon.

Gangs of Glasgow comes over calm and quiet. So little, thinking outside the local, mattered. Even the commentary... "there's a lonely need to belong". Contemplative over sensation seeking. Sincere, compared to today's ramped-up shill and fake concern. Although serious, the TV line is patronising and authoritarian. And, somehow pre 60's and movie-wise, about the tops going in my eyes. Days like these gone, healthy reminder. The Maggie 'wae a fine Dram n a Cuban'. What a combo. Comment, to send an up-vote on these occasional link to's. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteInteresting about this Brigadoon...cos remember exactly same story, baut from German culture circle :
ReplyDeletethere si very good story, sci-fi, maybe i read it in the late '80s, remember well : most likely some known writer is an author, so...
There is a village, hidden in the forest, mountains probably, where young man visits. He mets a gal etc.
( But she's got strange clothes, accent etc )
But then...he cannot find it back, somebody explains that the village re-surfaces once a...100yrs.
Etc.
So maybe this was quite common in the past, and in few countries there are traces of this events !
