EDWARD HORNEL AND HIS GIRLS

The young girls photographed for artist Edward Hornel "came from a number of local families."

"Rose, Edith and Maud Poland, the young daughters of a gamekeeper at Torrs Farm, appear in many of the photographs."

(Hornel - by Bill Smith - Chapter VIII)

"Hornel would pose the girls, chaperoned by his sister, either singly or in groups, get the light as he wanted it and then have them photographed, usually by McConchie."

"In those days this did not present any problems or raise any eyebrows, as it would do today.

"Parents were delighted to allow their daughters to be photographed and painted by a much respected artist and it was very convenient for Hornel."

Some of Hornel's paintings were of nude young girls.

Kirkcudbright "is the Venice of Scotland", according to Lord Cockburn in Circuit Journeys.

Hornel's paintings were influenced by his travels to Japan, Sri lanka and Myanmar.

Hornel had a world-class garden at Broughton House.

Hornel liked to paint 'young girls cavorting in dense thickets'.

He also liked to paint young girls in his studio.

Nudity was a feature of the occasional painting.

E. Rimbault Dibdin visited Hornel in Kirkcudbright.

Dibdin noticed that, "All about his doors are the children of the poor, many his red-headed young models …

"His garden is full of flowers, and the flowers of humanity are free to come in from the street, through the side gate, and enjoy themselves in it.

"He meanwhile studies and paints them, the flowers and the children, in the open air’.

Kirkcudbright

Hornel was born in Australia in 1864.

His parents were from Kirkcudbrightshire.

Claude Monet made friends with 12-year-old aspiring artist Daniel Fontaine, son of his landlady.

Monet became a father-figure to the boy, who accompanied Monet on his painting excursions.

  1. Hey Aanirfan/Aangirfan, please keep exposing Trump, much appreciated.

There's this recent interview that has interesting information about Epstein and Trump.

They also noted that Trump seems to be getting a pass on his background.

  2. And what happens when male-me talks, if ever, to a young girl? Young woman even. A stranger or thereabouts. What cannot but go shuddering through me – as though – I might be, 'suspicious'? When does exposing the epidemic of abuse backfire and have us soaking up the controllers, fear-bringing dreams? The scandal of scandals in society is sex abuse. Few caught, compared to many escaping but one upshot – that has an overshot, spread the separation. Spread the hate. “We are but abusers”. This post is written to provoke? Are you saying? Or maybe..? More.

And we got the Trump-line. Most will say is, we'll see. If he even gets the job. Survives. I suppose by suggesting that danger, I err on, 'for-real'. I understand – I think – why, you pushed the boat… the ship out. A necessary in my book. Admire the conviction. As for more-trump? Miss the rest of Aangirfan's-world. If not careful, the significance of Donald, becomes the strength of opposition. I hope you're wrong about him. Would we really come to a place, where we'd clearly know? Just written a comment 21CW/about Icke, has me saying, we need ten thousand aangirfans. Comments on aangirfan. Action out of aangirfan. New expression like A…
