Former head of the CIA bin Laden unit, Michael Scheuer, testified before the House Homeland Security Committee on October 9, 2013. Among his comments to both Rep. Pete King and Rep. Stewart were:
"We must stop the idiocy of democracy spreading"
"Our allies in the middle east are mostly totalitarian, sir. And they have been for 50 years."
"Osama bin Laden would have been a terrific American politician, because he stays on message."
"It couldn't be worse than it is now. You know, you're presiding over a bankruptcy. What could be worse? And what has been the goal of Al Qaeda since it was formed? To bankrupt the United States. Who's winning today, sir? We're done like dinner
That's how angry I feel. Imagine if Russia was doing this instead. Our media would outraged, everyone would hate Russia, and the Neocons would get their WW3.
There are others as well... I'll simply note here: imagine a single us senator or representative (since the great Cynthia McKinney - an American treasure) screwing up the courage to point out the emperor has no clothes.... fat fucking chance of that here in the land of limp-wristed pols ...
The present showdown between West, Russia and China is the culmination of a long running saga that began with World War One. Prior to which, Capitalism was governed by the gold standard system which was international, very solid, with clear rules and had brought great prosperity: for banking Capital was scarce and so allocated carefully. World War One required debt-capitalism of the FIAT kind, a bankrupt Britain began to pass the Imperial baton to the US, which had profited by financing the war and selling munitions. The Weimar Republic, suffering a continuation of hostilities via economic means, tried to inflate away its debts in 1919-1923 with disastrous results—hyperinflation. Then, the reintroduction of the gold standard into a world poisoned by war, reparation and debt was fated to fail and ended with a deflationary bust in the early 1930’s and WW2.
God bless the people of Liverpool today. Police and the establishment (Murdoch) are doing the very same things to victims of child abuse today. Monstrous evil scumbags. Our day will come as they say in NI.
