Nilüfer Demir, of Turkey’s Doğan News Agency (DHA), spotted Alan Kurdi at around 6 am?

"Demir has clicked the shutter of her camera on Sept. 2 around 6:00 a.m."

Photographer of the world-shaking picture of drowned ...

Can anyone explain what has been going on?

  3. Who actually found the little boy?

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/09/03/photographer-who-found-syrian-toddler-dead-on-turkish-beach-i-was-petrified/

Found by Nilufer Demir of the Dogan News Agency

"Demir has clicked the shutter of her camera on Sept. 2 around 6:00 a.m., on Bodrum’s Akyarlar coast of Turkey’s Muğla province, where bodies of migrants washed ashore after two inflatable boats sank."

“On Sept. 2, I was on duty and also photographed … of a group of Pakistani migrants in an attempt to cross into Greece. While witnessing the tragedy, suddenly we noticed the lying, lifeless bodies. We recognized the bodies belonged to toddlers. We were shocked; we felt sorrow for them. The best thing to do was to make this tragedy heard,” said Demir.

Where are the other photos of the fleeing refugees and why aren't there more people on the beach?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3220992/Their-eyes-open-closed-softly-Turkish-barman-body-toddler-Aylan-Kurdi-beach-relives-horror.html

"Adil Demirtas, 18, a barman and chef at Woxxie hotel, said he came across the heart-breaking sight of the toddler’s body as well as the body of a little girl wearing pink trousers when he arrived at work yesterday morning at about 6.30am."

Who was the little girl and what about her family?

"Mr Demitas, who has worked at the hotel for three years, had arrived at about 6.30am yesterday morning and was preparing the bar when his friend shouted out and pointed to something in the shallow water."

So the story is ...6 am - the photographer took pictures of the toddler after deciding that he was dead. She then left the beach along with her colleagues apparently without informing the authorities. Leaving Adil and his friend (6:30 am) to find the body and call an ambulance..
The ambulance staff didn't rush to take the boy to hospital but left him in situ for other officials to arrive together with other photographers/ camera crews.
Whilst all this chaos is going on at the same time two men decide to set up their fishing rod appearing to be totally oblivious of the unfolding tragedy just a stones throw away from them. Am I missing something?!

The cynical use of images of a dead child is unforgivable. I don't normally post but these images have upset me.

  6. A little boy laying face down in a puddle of water like that would drown. And no mother would risk it? Unless they have given him something to breathe through, but I can't see it?

  8. I worked in a field where I've seen many dead people before. I don't know what to think around the media hype over it but that poor little baby in the picture is dead.

    But there is this:
Any serious consideration of what lies behind the surge of refugees into Europe leads to the inescapable conclusion that it constitutes not only a tragedy but a crime. More precisely, it is the tragic byproduct of a criminal policy of aggressive wars and regime change interventions pursued uninterruptedly by US imperialism, with the aid and complicity of its Western European allies, over the course of nearly a quarter century.
