Large parts of Jeremy Corbyn's speech to the Labour Party conference were lifted word-for-word from a speech published online four years ago by a blogger called Richard Heller.

On 29 September 2015, Jeremy Corbyn, the new leader of the UK's Labour Party, made his speech to the party conference.
According to Ian Dunt:
(Corbyn's speech confirmed the main argument of his critics - Politics.co.uk blog)
"There was no thematic content, no idea unifying what he was saying, no quality in delivery, no attempt to speak to the public outside the hall, no plan for the future and no sign he is prepared to work with the media to communicate his appeal more widely."

According to Ian Dunt:
"It was the speech of someone who either doesn't care or isn't capable of speaking to anyone outside of his immediate supporters...
"The failure to communicate an idea or an argument ... was a failure of ambition...
"Generally speaking this was as unimaginative and unambitious as political speeches get."

ReplyDeleteCorbyn did exactly what he had to do on the day. First and only priority get all the party on board their collective mission. Unify and enthuse. The difficult policy issues can only be addressed over time as Labour Party MEMBERSHIP make their defining contributions (this is how Corbyn says it will work)
None to vote for. I have to say that I feel that you are wrong when you say that Mr Corbins goal is to Unify and enthuse, it seems to me that the Labour party is broken and will be riven with and brought to its knees by disputes and division from now on. Mr Blair will be belly laughing out of one of his many faces.
