Spiritualism is a belief that spirits of the dead have both the ability and the inclination to communicate with the living.
Spiritualism.
"Well, they don’t really experience time like us.
"I think a lot of them come and go. The idea that they stay in one place is kind of a misconception.
"Just because they're dead doesn't mean they don't have a life.
"They have things that they're working on, and they want to learn and they want to grow.
"There are places they want to see, and people they want to visit."
What It's Really Like To Talk To Dead People.
The Theory of Evolution was developed by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace.
Wallace believed in spiritual evolution.
He believed that that certain aspects of living organisms, such as intelligence and morality, cannot be explained in terms of purely materialistic processes.

Spiritualists do not believe that after death you go to an eternity of Heaven or Hell.
They believe that that when a person dies there are different 'spheres' that the person may go to, according to their degree of enlightenment.
Certain religions warn against contact with 'evil spirits'.
Spiritualists warn against occult religions and cults.
Some psychiatrists have described patients as acting as if they were under the influence of evil spirits.
..
The Swedish scientist and philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg (1688–1772) claimed to communicate with spirits.
According to Swedenborg:
1. there is not a single hell and a single heaven, but rather a series of higher and lower heavens and hells.
2. Spirits can act as intermediates between God and humans.
3. There are dangers in seeking out spirit contact.
Franz Mesmer (1734–1815) used hypnotism to get subjects to report contact with spirits.
Among those who have taken an interest in Spiritualism are the physicist William Crookes, the Nobel-laureate physiologist Charles Richet, the Nobel laureate Pierre Curie, the journalist William T. Stead, the author Arthur Conan Doyle and the psychologist William James.

Thanks Aang,
ReplyDeleteNever mind religion, that's all the solace I need.
And whether one accepts the sentiments of this piece or rejects it, regardless there is nothing to fear.
best etc. etc.
You always provide an educated and sensible comment!
DeleteIt compensates for the occasional deluge of nonsense from the mind controlled loons.

Mind controlled by whom?
DeleteIndeed, there is nothing at all to fear. Providing one's conscience is clear.
DeleteThe scriptures greatly condems speaking with the dead.
ReplyDeleteLeviticus 19:31 “Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.
Lev 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deu 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Deu 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
Deu 18:14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do
So what?

ReplyDelete1) how do you know it's "your grandfather" or whoever else and not some demonic joker? Or the NSA/CIA/MI5?MI6/Mossad/ISIS or other ethnic oppression agency beaming spook whispers into yer 'ead?
ReplyDelete2) why is aangirfan posting dreck like this? Emulating Jeff Rense, and mixing some serious investigative journalism in with New Age and wu-wu space goat farts tardery so as to taint the good stuff and label (libel?) your readers as "conspiracy theorists and other nutters?"
Serious questions.

ReplyDeleteI think this is a very worthy subject for an article and am confused as to why people would find it troubling. Reductive materialism is an infantile joke that has been destroyed by science. There is far more going on than we realise. Our eyes do not see everything, we are occupying one segment of an inter connected multiverse and actions on our plane appear to interact with events on other adjoining planes, although the nature of this interaction is unclear. We are inside a giant vibrational hologram, time is an illusion, only the moment truly exists. No one knows what is going on or the true nature of reality or the purpose of our lives. My understanding is that our thoughts, actions and words resonate in ways that are beyond our comprehension. Everything is connected and everything is constantly resonating and interacting both within this plane and across the multiverse.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks James.
