It was stressed out, that the authorities in Russia have so far refrained, probably due to prestige thinking, from imposing restrictions to the free flow of the ruble. When Iceland was railroaded into financial crisis (by the very same forces as now Russia) their government imposed restrictions, which seem to work out quite well.
