Time to dump the Jewish Old Tetament?

All is fine when you are tuned in to the divine

If heaven is within you, tune into it.

Be forgiving and kind.

All is fine when you are tuned in to the divine.

It is time to dump the Jewish Old Tetament?

The Jewish old testament can be linked to theft and genocide?

https://www.evilbible.com/do-not-ignore-the-old-testament/evils-of-the-torah/

God killed everyone except for eight people in the great flood.  (Genesis 7:23)

Of course the Jewish writers have twisted many stories?

Most of the scholars believe that the nativity story involving Jesus was borrowed from a time before Jesus.

Some scholars believe that the crucifiction story has been borrowed from an earlier time before Jesus.

God commands Hagar go back into slavery and bear children for her master though she does not want to.  (Genesis 16:7-9)

God burns down a whole city (women and children included) simply because they were supposedly homosexual.  (Genesis 19:23-25)

(God made people bisexual, reportedly)

God murders Onan for refusing to commit incest with his sister in law.  (Genesis 38:10)

Exodus 12:29  God repeatedly tells Moses exactly what calamity he will next visit upon the Egyptians if the Pharaoh does not allow the Israelites to be set free from slavery.  Then he tells Moses (also repeatedly) that he will harden Pharaoh’s heart...

God decides to kill all the first born of Egypt.

God endorses slavery. He set up laws as to how slavery was to be carried out, and goes as far as Okaying beating them.  (Exodus 21:2-6)

God sanctioned the selling of ones daughter.    (Exodus 21:7)

God ordered and allowed human sacrifices.  (Leviticus 27:28-29)

God buries alive Korah and his family.  (Numbers 16:27)

God abetted Moses in destroying the Amorites at Heshbon including the men, the women, and the little ones. (Numbers 21:27-35)

God commands Moses to kill all the Medianite people including children and women.  God commands that the virgins be saved for later raping by Moses’ soldiers.  (Numbers 31:17-18)

God ordered Moses’ army to destroy 60 cities, killing all the women and children within!  (Deuteronomy 3:3-7)

Genesis 16:7-9
"And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands."
Where does it say that Hagar didn’t want to go? She went because she wanted to, no one forced her!

Genesis 19:23-25
"The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground."
The passage does not explain that the cause of the city's destruction was homosexuality, however, Ezekiel explains:
Ez 16:49 "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy."

God killed Onan because he did not fulfill his duty as a brother. Onan was greedy and showed no respect for his deceased brother or his sister-in-law. At that time, if a man died without having children, his closest relative was required to take his wife so she could conceive. The first child of the woman would be the heir of the deceased man, because the wife did not inherit.
Deuteronomy 25:5-6
"If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel."

Through the hardening of Pharaoh's heart, God demonstrated His power in a miraculous way, freeing His people from slavery and ensuring that this story would be told until today, for His glory
Exodus 9:16 "And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth."
Romans 9:17 "For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth."

Exodus 21:2-6
"If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever."
Where is it written that it is okaying to beat slaves?
Exodus 21:20 "And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished."

God sanctioned the selling of ones daughter.
The biblical meaning of slave is not the same as today. Read Exodus 21:7-10 and Leviticus 25

Leviticus 27:28-29
"Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the Lord of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the Lord. None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death."
Where is it written that God ordered and allowed human sacrifices?

Numbers 16:27
"So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children."
Where is it written that God buries alive Korah and his family.

Numbers 31:17-18
"Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."
Keep alive for yourselves. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they were violated, does it?

Deuteronomy 3:3-7 and Numbers 21:27-35
Too long an explanation to put here.

It's not "god", it's "Jahweh Elohim" - totally different to "Abba Pater", Yeshua's Father, whom John described as being "Love". The Exodus lasted 40 years and cost 2.4 million lives. Yet, the distance to travel was only 250 miles. Jahweh wanted to "magnify his name" with a marketing campaign.

When the Hebrew people left Egypt after 430 years of slavery, their thoughts and customs were shaped by Egyptian culture, including the idea of social hierarchy and polytheism. God, with a liberating plan aimed at a just society, led them to the desert for 40 years, seeking to transform and educate them for this new reality. During this time, the people constantly murmured and wanted to return to their former condition of slavery. This process of mental conversion was slow and difficult, as described in the Scriptures, and even Moses did not enter the Promised Land. The change in mentality, necessary to live according to God's plan, is long and requires perseverance.

Exodus 13:17-18
"And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt."

2 Samuel 24 says the angry "LORD" (Jahweh) demands David take a census while 1 Chronicles 21.1-6 tells exactly the same story but it's an angry Satan who commands David to count the people.

The OT always looked bolted on and contradictory to anyone with a pulse. A vicious, malicious, murdering, torturous, temperamental, sadistic, hubristic and vainglorious "god" was equated by lukewarm christians to be the same Creator as Yeshua's Holy Father. When we were kids in RE classes, we used to ask the teacher, "How is an eye for an eye revenge in the OT compatible with forgiveness of turning the other cheek in the NT?" Christians don't dare to look. They are programmed and riddled with fear and worse still, eaten away by a sense of spiritual elitism manifesting as complete ignorance of the Scriptures.
