I actually had an archeaologist-correspondent who was in on this story.

Here's the short version:

In around 1500 BC, give or take and use whatever number system you like, a people from the east called the Naharin conquered their way westword and almost made it to the Leventine coast. They were sometimes called "Aryan War Ax" folk but were obscure otherwise till very recently.

The Naharin were stopped at the Great Bend of the Eurphrates River by the Egyptian king Thutmose III. Afterwhich they settled in, built a successful city-state called MIttani, and even married into the Egyptian Royal house (!).

Queen Mutemwia was the Mittanian who married in, her son became the great Amenhotep who was followed by Akhenaten of the One-God represented by the disk of the sun.

My friend was in on the research, and discovered much about Mittani, after much excavavation (it was conquered by the Hittities and destroyed over 3000 years ago). Main thing: It was very Vedic, and likely influenced the religion Akhenaten started 34 centuries ago, which itself remains a bit of an enigma.

Point is: An early version of Vedanta entered the Middle East thousands of years ago. This much archaeology has proven. Apparently it also influenced the line of thought that, in the fullness of time, gave us... Jesus?

That's one interpretation, anyway.

Good work on the interesting links as usual.

Thanks Aang,

Your link on Laozi and quantum physics is particularly interesting, a thing I shall pursue. Given that the dao can never be defined, and given that the piece frames the discussions in terms of physics, I find it curious that chaos theory didn't get a mention. But strangely this is par for the course. Chaos is the red-headed stepchild of physics - the thing they wish didn't exist on account of it making clear that nothing can ever be truly known. Or predicted, more to the point.

Anyway, off to google to see what "dao chaos theory" turns up. It might be interesting.

Dave J has some Youtube videos up saying the sphinx and pyramids are a hoax and were really built in the 1700s.

Bah!

That's nothing.

I'm a hoax and I was made in 1952.

However, my chicken is very real:

Good post and as we have had these discussions before, I linked the same post here. Jesus vs Churchianity is mentioned.

Bah, indeed! It get's better.

The "Egyptians" never wrote about how why what the pyramids were about. Or if did, libriaries containing them were burned.

It was the GREEKS, starting with Herodotus, who spread the tourist trap stories about the rocks and ramps and hoo-hah.

Were the Greek historians all made up in the 1700s too?

That would explain a lot... but it would start a whole new load of questions about technical problems AND fraud at the start of the Industrial Revolution. Thomas Newcommen invented the steam pump AND Socrates? Busy fella!
